I used the smallrig cage to get a good grip with the Sony 18-105. Now that I am using a couple of fast & light primes instead, the base only version of the cage is looking good. Also under $50 +\- are beautiful peak design straps.

I would recommend the smallrig 2 battery and charger, only had them 6 month so cant speak for longevity, but being able to quickly swap in a fresh battery and stick the dead one on charge is really handy.

What is the required write speed to be able to record with all the different 4k settings? My old sandisk only does 80write and the zv-e10 won't let me record 24p100. Just ordered a prograde v60 card which should be able to write with 130mb Thank you for a great video :)

Keep in mind.. the little light is only about 300lux at 3 feet. about 100 lumens. basically about as much as a wide beam pocket flashlight. But it's great for mood lighting and close ups.

I had the cage for the ZV-E10 but never really got on with it. I've just ordered the little tripod. I've been looking for another one of those. I have a small one that I use with my DJI Osmo Action but wanted one for the ZV-E10. As I already have some of the F38 bits this is a good choice. Hopefully you still get the commision. I did use your link but it lost it when I logged in to their site. Loving the new studio. Very swish. You'll soon get used to the new camera positions.

I got the viltroxx 75mm f1.2 as my first lens for the ZV-E10. I dont know what im doing wrong but the photos and videos are not in focus. Only very close items like a water bottle comes in focus but this is seldom. People or landscapes are never in focus. Its always blurry. Plan to get the Sigma 18-50mm as my second lens but should i return the Viltroxx?

if the autofocus switch is on, and you have afc on in your zv-e10, it would focus perfectly. it’s possible you have a damaged lens, but I would bring it in to a camera store and let them take a look to see what they think.

Hi Mark, i also got the zv e 10 and the smallrig cage and the rode mic one and i love this setup. Another question: the quality in full HD on the zv e10 is not really good because the camera does "pixel binning" on full HD.😕 Is there an option to fix that or does sony have a software update or anything like that. I would like to film more of my KZbin content in full HD because of slow motion and speedramps. I hope you can help me and thanks for the great work you do for all of us.🤠🙏 Keep the good work 💪🔥

Unfortunately you’re stuck with the 1080 quality as is. It’s best to shoot in 4K and out on a 1080 timeline on the edit if you want to output in 1080. But for slowmotion and speed ramping, you can’t do that, so add a little sharpening in post and it bridges the gap a bit.

Thanks - tweaking it still -I think that's a good point about the shirt. In the studio tour you will see the sound proofing - I actually have 14 thick wall panels on the walls and ceiling and what's being me are "black acoustic slats" from Wood Veneer Hub. The don't do a ton for sound - but they help a little and they look great to me

I wish more channels would do that, showing behind the scenes, what they use, how it's setup, etc etc...thats also really helpful. The wall looks great... acoustic slats huh.. .never seem those before. In my podcast studio I put sound dampening insulation in the drywall and it works pretty well, when I close the door it's dead silent.

Tried the kit lens challenge with the ND filter thru your link when the hubby and I were in Deadwood. That challenge was nothing compared to the hike to leave a coin for Seth Bullock on his tombstone. The camera cage is a must have for the Sony ZV-E10. I got a good deal on a Ulanzi cage, not as popular but very similar to the small rig.

Why does this studio always look to me like a bad green-screen?! Is it because its blurry? Because of the bad separation between hair and background? Or is it because the plant looks like wrong colored cgi with no shadow?! I don't get what it is for me, but something is off here. 😅

Hey Mark you've been so much help I can't thank you enough. But my zve10 came in yesterday and what do you know no memory card lol . What is the best card you'd recommend that won't break the bank . I'm doing vloggs of my dog and possibly some photos. I'm going to pick up the lens you recommend just want a decent card

Love your work and would love to follow your path. Purchased ZVE10 based on your work. That said, would appreciate your advice. I started getting more serious with KZbin and my street soccer events company. I do events for schools, churches, soccer clubs, and bday parties. I bought Sony ZV E10 w/kit lens, Sigma 16, and Sigma 56, along with DJI Mini 3 Pro and DJI RS3 Mini to get me started. I recieved Sony Gmaster 85mm F1.4 and Bestbuy Total Tech as gift for Christmas. I feel like it doesn't line up with current direction. Would appreciate your wisdom. It's my side hustle but want to build momentum. Would you trade Gmaster for FX30 or 6700 if in my shoes?
