Appreciate "the big dudes" giving some reviews. 205lbs over here and I've been telling my other bigger friends Adidas is where it's at with the rotation of the Boston's, Prime X, Prime X Strung, and the Adios Pro 3s. Lightstrike Pro has the perfect amount of energy return, firmness, and pop for people of the heavier body compositions. Also, Alex, Go One More from one BPN dude to another.
@chadwzimm Жыл бұрын
The firmness of the LSP is what I enjoy most, because I sink in just enough to get a solid energy return back.
@nealdieker Жыл бұрын
@@chadwzimm yes! Something else I love is the fact that the higher stack of the Adios Pro 3s and Prime Xs is that for a heavier runner, it's so much easier on my body by bracing the weight and allowing me to get the volume I need in for Marathon or Ultra training.

Bigger dude here (225lbs) and I'm enjoying my Adizero SL pair so far, got it for 50% off so can't complain. I like it enough that I might try to find a pair of Boston 12s when these are worn out.

Been wanting a big dude perspective on different popular running shoes, and more specifically the midsole responsiveness. Always felt there could be hidden gems out there that would be perfect for a heavier stride that was perhaps underwhelming for someone that weighs all of 150 lbs soaking wet, and vice versa. Would love to get feedback on shoes the running community generally loves, for example the Endorphin Speed 2, but felt flat and lifeless to me under my weight & compression. Nice work. Keep it up!

Great video guys! I'm a 96kg 6'2 runner relatively new to the sport (4 years). Love watching shoe reviews before I part with my hard earned cash. I'm starting to realise, shoes that suit lighter runners, don't necessarily work for me and visa versa. Prime X 2 Strung- since their release, I wanted to try them as I suspect they will work really well for me, but been put off by the negative reviews about weight/price etc. There are suddenly some great discounts on this shoe in the UK (Ive managed to bag a pair for less £'s than my Boston 12's) which eliminates the price issue. After watching this again its given me the re-assurance to roll the dice, order a pair and give them a go. Thanks for representing heavier runners and keep up the good work!

Hey guys, can you talk about the wear? How many miles do you get as a heavier runner compared to the lighter runner. How many long runs or marathons (half marathons) do you get from your favorite shoes? I'm a heavier female (189 lbs) and I feel like I'm replacing shoes every 2 to 4 months during a training block. Thanks for the feedback.
@chadwzimm Жыл бұрын
I definitely wear out shoes faster, not only outsole but also in foam compression. IT’s unfortunately one of the things we just have to deal with!

Is it a big dude shoe really if maximum size is 13 ? Nope !!! Strung needs sizes 14 and 15 to be called a big dude shoe ! Pro 3 has size 14 but only on Adidas website exclusively in limited quantities, not possible to get anywhere else in size 14, so must pay top dollar immediately before they sell out. Also hurts the bottom of my feet by mile 12. Real big dude shoe is nike Alphafly that goes up to 15 or Saucany pro that goes up to 15 as well .. Adidas needs to step up their sizing for carbon models , so does Asics . 6' 5" 260lb 3:49 Chicago 23 big dude here. Will def try Boston as they go up to size 15 .

Adidas needs to unleash Lighstrike Pro on a well cushioned daily trainer or max cush shoe. Move a bit away from the narrow pseudo-euro silhouette, utilize the lightest & cushiest foam, and then push that to the market at around $145-165 USD. I've personally not found anything in the Adizero line-up that works for me, as I'm at around 6'5"/240. Asics, Puma, Brooks, Saucony, Hoka, New Balance, and even Nike all have something that just works. Adidas, not so much. I've been looking for an option from the Three Stripes brand for decades. There have been some 'good' ones now and again, of course. But not presently. My biggest gripes against Adidas: Lighstrike and Repetitor foams are too stiff/brickish. The 30-50 mile break-in period isn't worth it. Boost foam is still too heavy and needs 2 different formulations if they are going to continue pushing that tech: 1 for cush, and 1 for energy return. The shoes (lasts) are too narrow through the mid-foot. Always placing pressure on the lateral-side (head of the fifth metatarsal). What's with the use of the rods (pseudo-plate) in all of the shoes? Where is their max-stack, well-cushioned slower pace, long distance, or recovery shoe that isn't flirting with trying to be a plated super-trainer or nearly race-ready shoe? (Example: New Balance has the SC Trainer but also the More. Saucony, Nike, and other companies have options. Where is that option from Adidas without rods/plate and fantastic amounts of Lightstrike Pro? It's not the Boston or Adios for me. Are they pushing people to the Prime or something nutty like that?)
