$280k? Who can afford a van at this price? Lol, my gosh these things can barely even go off road. Where is the bathroom? I thought post pandemic value shopping would spread to all ends of the consumer market and with current interest rates it would bring these builders back to reality. 200k in a build? Nope, I was a car designer for many many years..what r&d? Lol, ok whatever. Anyone wanting a custom van let me know I’m starting a new company. Wow

Welcome to the class B world. Demand is highest in the RV industry so prices are NOT coming down. By all means If you you can do it cheaper you can make your fortune.

No, you're not. And if you did you quickly find that you'd be probably selling at the same kind of prices. Every one of these videos some clown comes on claiming they can do the same build and charge way less. Going on 5 years now and not one of these people has opened a business selling these cheap vans and campers. But yeah, I'll wait til you open a business and then buy yours 😂

I would consider Otzi to be a well engineered Mercedes and Vandoit and Volkswagen. Completely my opinion from spending a short amount of time in each one.

​​@@dixonbuttes6564 you know that Tundra doesn't have a bed, a sink, a stove, 20+ gal of water, a large battery capacity, dining table, room to stand up, a shower, a toilet, a fridge...? Even properly outfitted the van will always crush the Tundra in comfort and convenience. People aren't buying vans to do what a Tundra can do. Yes, of course a Tundra can go more places. Duh. And a guy walking can go more places than the Tundra. You're comparing apples with oranges here.

I would compare the built quality to a Earthroamer and those are $800k. It’s all about the quality and durability. It is the van I wish I could build.

Not sure how many of these these guys are selling, but they're having a fabrication house or machine shop bang out these pieces on CNCs and so forth. They're not cutting wood by hand. I would think that the cost of labor would shoot down. Having pieces that fit together like an erector set is a big savings. It doesn't seem that that savings is being passed on at the consumer. And that's fine, they should sell them for whatever they can get.
