I had the m5 for a few years and it was my first film M. Way underestimated camera! Yes it is somewhat bigger than the rest of the M’s but it’s more a matter of design than actual measurements and the innovative futures in the m5 makes for a great userexperiance. I for sure recommend the m5!

Be careful when buying from LLL because one of the guys working there doesn't take customer information and customer privacy seriously. He shared that you were buying it in a discord server and he often shares customers buying it and discusses customers in there with other users.

@@Pembers357 He shared screenshots of his order as well as screenshots of a special request from Kai to LLL. He's also discussed other customers and issues and also been unprofessional in what they ship and how they ship in the discord group. So much for customer privacy.

@@2WiLDLive @Andrew Pemberton Hi Andrew and Tony, I am the person that is working for LLL and the website. First, I apologize for my past behaviour, it is inexcusable, and I take full responsibility. Something like this will never happen again, as I always/will take customer privacy as my highest priority. No, I have not leaked anyone's private information to the public or in the Discord group with the screenshot that I have taken. I always crop out customers' information to ensure their privacy (but this should not be happening again, regardless). As for the unprofessional packaging, they were only sent to close friends and people I know very closely. All other packaging/shipments are packed at the highest professional standpoint, and all defective lenses after arrival are dealt with in either replacement or return with a pre-paid shipping label, and refunds are immediate. But again, I apologize for my past behaviour.

I’ve just looked at the website of LLL and they have now sold out … but at £635 I don’t see this as a cheap lens when Zeiss is out there ! Nice review though. Thanks

I quite like my Voigtlander 50mm f1.5, but it is much larger than this lens. However, it is a ‘pretty affordable’ lens that gets amazing results.

I can't see many Leica users if any with a lens on which CHINA is written right in front of it...Let's be real...I know Leica SL MILC users with some old Voigtlander lenses that show a wey nicer contrast and wey better bokeh then today over absurdly exaggerated contrast that eats details in shadows and drowns shadows in blak ink like poured from above, but still there is no CHINA written anywhere on them, let alone in front... If you want to be realy special, you can use smc Pentax 43mm f1.9 Special with Leica M mount. For K mount is Limited, for M mount is Special - made in Japan by Pentax with M mount. I don't know if they made Special in Vietnam, but in Japan I'm sure. I have de FA MIJ for K mount, bought before moving production to Vietnam. You need to stop down to f2.4 or at least f2, because @ f1.9 the bokeh is ugly and the rendering pretty soft. At f5.6 is ultra sharp but still with nice gradations and with some local contrast in photoshop you can have medium format look.

For its money, I'd rather get made in Japan CV lens. With all what China is wrong doing for freedoms and else... For same reason I don't buy German Leitz made from specific time frame. Only after it.
