People think that most of the time of cypher is at site A, enemy team enters B then cypher has no impact, but this is wrong, think carefully, most of the time enemy team knows that cypher is at A so they gotta hit B, for example in pistol round in sunset. So you are essentially blocking one site and that is insane value.

Exactly. It also lets more of your teammates hold B, since they are confident in Cypher's ability to hold A by themselves/with only one other, making the enemy team have a hard time attacking both sites.

The key point is u have no control over what ur teammates will do. U playing b locking it down meaning enemy team will have a high chance to hit A site. Even u stack 4 players on A site leaving u 1 man solo on B, chances are ur teammates will lose the 4v5 or 4v4 which then force u to rotate late and play retake with ur defensive utils. Again that sucks. The point is u have no control over ur teammates. U teammates could be ASS. U locking down the entire site doesnt help. The second they find out where ur playing. They hit the opposite site. And u could literally win with any comp as long as ur teammates know what they doing and out aim everyone on the enemy team by a huge margin. Otherwise u playing sentinel agent is the worst choice to solo queue. Cuz ur forced to play retake 1v2, 1v3, 1v5 or 2v4 etc etc. and when ur teammates are kinda bad. It wont go smoothly and trust me on that.

@@ok1_183 Yup you're right. Bad teammates can ruin strategies. That's why it's way more fun to play 5 stack with friends :) But still it's quite less probable that you're gonna lose 4 stacked site, remember chances of having ASS teammates on the opponent side is also a possibility (unless there's a large skill gap between teams)

This is why I play Sova and Omen the most, and support roles in general. My ideology has always been setting up team success in team games, and yet my brother believes playing duelist is the fast way out while he blames teammates often for not providing adequate utility. He needs to see this.

Try playing some team death matches where you look at a target and really stare at their head before you try to shoot them. You're probably rushing way more than you need to

Play deathmatch with guardian it will force you to take time before hitting the enemies and will force you to unconsciously strafe between shots to not die early

I disagree with Sentinels having no impact. Especially with agents like Cypher, enemies are always on their toes if you set up your trapwires correctly, forcing them to play slow and even lock them out of a site completely, allowing you to let your team stack the other site while you solo anchor.

The more coordinated the teams get, the more they learn how to play around your setups and even use them as a weakness against you to predict how your team will set up. For example if the enemy team knows ur cypher on ascent a and you condition them to fear an unbreakable trip they can simply think of ways to play around it for example, they can apply pressure and late hit, the site. They can constantly break ur stuff with utility, and if they have an initiator they can simply scout ur util and determine a safe path onto site. Sentinels are good, I personally just dont think they have the flexibility that an initiator can provide. Yea a sentinel can provide information too but they can’t really setup a teammate nor can they really play off their own things as much as an initiator can. They are limited to where their setup is whereas an initiator is only limited to if they have the util or not. Which leads me to my next point of sentinels really only having a strong defensive power. While it’s true they can lurk, so can Reyna and yoru and omen. Flanking util is nice but it’s kinda useless if ur relying on a brain dead team to enter site and they all die. At least with an initiator, you give your teammates a higher chance of winning their fights through flashing, or scouting them out and worst comes to worst you can simply trade them. That being said sentinels are still solid for solo queue however just like a Reyna, their play style leans more selfish side leading to a real lack of kick from then until the bomb is planted where as initiators just have so much more team value throughout the entire match when played properly. It’s a team based game at the end of the day so playing agents who can manipulate the most value through your team will always make it easier.

This is why I love yoru. He can do everything. U can lurk, support, create map pressure, take risky fights and tp out like reyna or chamber by jumping and looking down and away from enemies.He’s so underrated it’s crazy. I just hope riot doesn’t nerf him to the ground like other duelists

Y’all are trolling. Cloves kit is insane. Just because you don’t play her like Reyna doesn’t mean she’s bad. She literally lets you lurk or entry and control how you want to smoke an area and when. And then you can get your smokes back. She’s a combo of brimstone and viper and she allows you to take fights. You get one, you heal, then you push and take another fight plus one, if you convert that you’re in a 5 v 3. Not only that but if you’re getting 2 and dying every rd you’re getting 3 orbs a round. Meaning you can ult at minimum 3 times in one half. I promise you smoke off and then throw decay no one is going to be in a hurry to push that.

i have this problem of being in a slum period. like a month ago i was a literal god for 2 months straight, match mvp every game playing and hitting all my shots mainly phoenix and raze and was able to finally go from asc 1 to asc 3 (was hardstuck asc 1 for over a year before that). however now idk y my aim just disappeared and im now constantly bottom of the scoreboard, negative k/d, now playing fill and deranked all the way from asc 3 to 0 rr asc 1.

Lock an agent with utility because your other teammates won’t. You’ll get 3 duelists who all think they’ll top frag and you’re gonna need as much solo utility as you can get when they all die lurking by themselves. I recommend clove, brimstone, gekko and maybe Skye, omen if you’re really good at ratting. Cypher if you’re a giga nerd. You want round to round consisten impact then those are the only agents you touch. Maybe viper if you think she’s still good. Maybe sova if you like darts and droning A LOT. If you need help understanding this concept watch any pro VCT. Look at how much utility they bring with their comps and what agents they’re using. And then do the same thing. It’s that simple. I promise you Jet, chamber and Reyna are absolutely useless if you’re not an aim god.

Im an ex smfc faceit level 9 from csgo and recently got into val. I think i have super good aim but people call me a smurf and no matter how hard i try to prove against it nobody listens, even though i have mid util usage, and stick with duelists. My current experience with val has been quite underwhelming

I mainly play iso reyna nd clove… but im for sure an iso main. Iso is just straight forward and simple. Pop double tap and swing yk. My whole play style centers around one simple thing and thats aiming…. So ironically the most basic and simple characters that fit that role for me is ISO and reyna. Everybody else in my opinion just takes a lil too much brain power with line ups and when/ how to use the utility effectively besides clove as well.

I'm unranked and I play sage. I have not got a single win and I average 30 kills per game in ranked, I have only played 3 games of ranked. What is a good why to make my teammates and I smarter.

I mean 30 kills average will get u to a higher mmr lobby resulting in ur teammates getting better. If they’re still ass, you have those games, but you can probably carry urself out of those lobby if ur consistently hitting 25s and 30s. (Battle sage mode)

Lock Reyna if u wanna climb. Util doesn’t matter when u don’t have team play in ranked. Worry about it once u reach asc. If ur losing on Reyna most likely ur positioning and mechanics are poor, which should be the first things u improve on as they are essential to climbing and enjoying the game.

Honestly, if you want impact on controller pick harbor. He’s been my main for a while and his walls are great for setting your team up and bailing them out. Cove helps with defusing, attacking, or getting away from gunfire and his ult is honestly one of the best ults for area control in the game

This is cap for 80% of ranks. Curry isn't playing in silver. You need to rely on your mechanics for 90% of impact up to ascendant. Playing Reyna in body shot ELO is obviously op. Playing omen when no one else wants to play controller is high impact on every rank. The only general tip for every rank is: play what you play well. All other considerations matter less than this one.

This has more than one point where you are just plain wrong, especially about the falling back on mechanics as if you can't, that means you do not have enough mechanical skill to be in your rank or to climb higher l meaning you would have to train your mechanics, my advice stick with you main too like low immortal that learn something new as that is when you need to map pick. (I'm radiant btw)
