Having used only midjourney and stable diffusion, I think MJ is the easiest to achieve good results, but SD is the most customizable, and when you customize it, you can achieve amazing results too. So I prefer SD because I created my own models that have the looks I like better. Happy new year, everyone.

One thing I've noticed with Midjourney vs the others is that MJ almost exclusively produces hyper-attractive faces, while Dall-e can produce more normal looking people. The monk and businessman are great examples in this video of that effect. If you're going for that it's great, but it can be annoying to try and force the AI to make your portraits a little more unattractive when you're trying to create characters that aren't supermodels.

The thing that lifts MJ above the others-for me-is that it produces results that are essentially commercially usable. I would often prefer a slightly more photorealistic look, than what MJ seems to offer with simple prompts, but I guess that is one of the keys to why the images look very complete and great.

Midjourney can produce amazing images there's no doubt about that but with a little prompt work I've been getting some pretty killer images from Dall-E 2 as well. I've been messing around with a lot of the free apps and browser versions of the models and so far, MJ is a beast but don't count out Dall-E 2 if you're a decent prompt engineer. @@WadeMcMaster absolutely, I've been working in 3D and am an aspiring filmmaker I tend to use a lot of that knowledge to create prompts that are more specific and specialized. So I think that's why I can use even the free generators and still get killer results. It can take time sometimes to get exactly what I'm looking for but I'm getting better at talking to the AI and learning how to ask it for specific things. I'm not taking my image results into Blender to recreate them in 3D and looking for interestingly creative ways to use AI in my workflow :)

I´ve been using Midjourney for about a year now, got the full paid version as it is in my view the best of the three, yet that atrocious Discord makes it super frustrating to use even after all that time. Imagine you're after a yoghurt in your fridge but instead of just opening and grabbing it, you are faced with a Boeing 737 control panel and have to go through a landing procedure of which lenght depends on a current traffic to be able to do so. Creating feels like writing a relaxing novel amidst a carnival of confetti, fireworks and thousands of screaming babies. :-)

SDUI can be great, just that it depends on what model just that the default model is kinda mediocre. But AOM3A or AnythingV3 and other specialized models are incredible and far more advanced than Dall-e or midjourney. I'm really not a fan of Midjourney because it does look great but you're restrained by one style.

I've used both mid journey and stable dif, mid journey is really good for beginners, you barely use anything to order the ai while creating fantastic looking images, diffusion meanwhile wont give you a lot of amazing work with little experience but the payoff of honing the skill would create you a more detailed style and create original pieces that you actually imagined. If you wanna create a piece with every detail you like and mess around it would be diffu, if you just wanna create an ai art and experience it, you can get a lot with just mid journey. I liked diffu more because it gives me more control, but midjourney is simple enough to be used by masses who doesnt wanna care about coding to perfection an art project. I have a friend who actually sketch and use mid journey, when he finds something to work around it he just take the ai generated art of his sketch and work from there the details. If you barely have any talent in drawing you can get away with diffu in creating a master piece meanwhile midjourney can be for actual artist who wanna skip some work with generating specific ai art and lack of computer skills with the use of their skills in drawing filling out the details they want from the ai art they got.

By default midjourney has better result. But i think we can look at it and totally know it came from mid journey. The style is sort like those concept art for video game and has this filter like dc movies. But ill put my money on dalle 2 and wait. Reason dalle 2 had a better understanding of realism than mid journey. Over time it will get better so therefore dalle 2 might be the one to wait and see.

This is true. However, a lot of people starting out will be throwing basic prompts at these platforms in the beginning. Since this video was made last year, most people were pretty new to it, but I didn't explain that all too well either.

👋 It's not even disputable........... in terms of consistent straight up text to image image quality, matching prompt to image, and coherence ........Midjourney is the easy winner. For certain types of images, I've gotten some very good results with Stable Diffusion using a local install. But plenty of other times, the quality of SD renders is crap. I'm hoping that the next several SD updates will significantly improve the quality of the text to image outputs by SD.

Not really representative at all to be honest. Even 5 months ago I generated images with SD that were infinitely better than the weirdness you generated there. They look like my very first images I generated with 0 fixes, scripts and tools, at 10 steps euler with a prompt consisting of two words... With all the control you got over it it's safe for me to say that imho SD is the best generator as of now. Nothing against Midjourney though, it's great.

Midjourney is the clear winner. Consistently produces the more stylish and overall just higher quality images. You could print any of these results. However, it often deviates more from the given prompt, while the others try to stick to it more closely (e.g. the ink sketch, or the business man photograph). Would be interesting to see how they compare given more precise queries.

As far as I’m aware, stable diffusion is especially particular with prompts. While Dall-E and Midjourney work best with short prompts, stable diffusion works best with huge prompts. Funnily, stable diffusion has seemed the most accessible. It can be run on your own computer for free without having to do some python bullshit that only hardcore data analysts understand. Like what the fuck is a notebook?

Haha I agree 100% - they're all accessible in their own way though. I find it much easier to pay a small fee and fire up discord for Midjourney, whilst Dall E is the easiest to use for a beginner. It really comes down to personal preference IMO. At this stage though, Stable Diffussion has the most potential I think thanks to it's Open Source nature and current capabilities..

That's really not a very fair comparison. I don't have any experience with Dall-E or Midjourney so I don't know how they work, but the outputs of Stable Diffusion varies wildly, depending on the choice of model used to generate it. There are many many different models, built on different versions of SD, that are all trained very differently. The base ver of SD isn't all that useful on it's own. Some free online simple text generators may use it by it's self, but that's not how it would typically be used. Even in that case, those sites may well be combining it with one of a number of generalized all purpose models. It's hard to know. We're not even talking apples and oranges here. Effectively you're comparing apples with some other form of random unknown fruit. Putting it all together, the SD results you got were meaningless. Having made countless photographs of people with SD, I can say for sure, whatever form of SD used to get that pathetic guy in a suit was completely inappropriate for the task. If that had ben created with something like SD XL/Juggernaut XL or Realistic2.0 it would have been Spectacular in it's realism. Chosing a specialized model for the others based on what you want to see the sky's the limit as to what you can do with SD.
