BEST and SAFEST WAY to shorten a Trolling Motor Shaft!!! (Kayak Rigging)

Curious. Since you've shorten the shaft, i reckon that you'll probably already know how deep this thruster should be below water line to do so. Whats that depth?

The prop should be like 4 inches under water to start, but you kinda have to adjust it to get best speed for your particular kayak. If it's really weedy I raise it so the prop is barely under water.

Thanks for this video! I saw a video that you have showing how you lift the trolling motor, I see that it has a system that presses the brake that does not allow it to lift... Could you explain how you put that arm, please? I saw that you also changed a base from another brand that has the brake on the opposite side.
