Brewmasters may be the worst tower, but the fact that even it does a metric ton of damage and does a good job of protecting barracks units speaks volumes about how good all the towers are in Kingdom Rush Alliance. Grim Wraiths/Rocket Gunners’ main weakness is that they have awful durability in exchange for their surprisingly high damage. Give them Emissary and Brewmaster support and suddenly you have a meatgrinder instead of a chokepoint, because high damage units not dying within the first 5 seconds is, surprise surprise, actually devastating.
