I gotta say im a spigen 'fanboy' they offer protection at a decent price and are quite minimalistic. They also tend to use individual cut outs for each camera. The ultra hybrid zero-one is my all time favourite. It has a 3D teardpwn pf the inside of the phone printed inside and outside of the clear case to make it look like real 3D. Great vid and lets me choose in cases as there are so many quality ones nowadays.!! 👋🤣✌️

Thumbs up for the hard work. One thing missing for many cases, though, is how well it prevents the phone from wobbling when laying flat on a table and using the S Pen. I rock the Samsung Leather Case. Awesome quality and perfect fit for 50€. Phone lies flat with no wobble and you have a raised lip on the screen. Cutouts are perfect, so no dust collection area around the cameras. Aluminium buttons that are super clicky. Gives the phone a premium feel, but on the slippy side if you have dry hands. Drop protection may also not be the best. I work in construction and it holds up great so far. Of course you have those typical wear marks like you always have with leather products. But thats just adding to its good look in my opinion.

@@Nostrologyy Its raised enough that the camera won't touch the surface you put your phone on. It has a raised lip so the screen doesn't touch the surface you put your phone on. You can't expect serious screen protection from a case? The drop and shock protection is certainly smaller with this case, than with some sort of rugged case. Why need humidity protection? You go swimming with your phone? But after all I switched my case to one thats a little more rugged and has MagSafe on the back, because the leather "rubbed" through pretty quick. As I said I work in construction and I needed more drop protection. If I would work in an office job I think I would still rock this case.

Great job! The only thing I would want you to include is the ability to use samsung pay or other NFC related things. I bought a protective case once that wouldn't let me use samsung pay because the back was made of a metal plate. Thanks to you, I have found a few favourites .

Great great selection of cases and very useful video, I have been using ESR kickstand cases for many series of Note phones, all I can say is they are super robust, especially when you are in drop prone risk situations like outdoors, adventure sports etc. The kickstand is super firm and very handy to give you extra grip to hold the bulky devices while capturing shots or holding the device itself. Highly recommended.

Great review! As a female with smaller hands, I am looking for great drop protection and a slim case. It would be helpful if your reviews included the slimness factor. For example, I bought both the rugged Supcase Beetle and Edge XT but found them both too wide to comfortably hold. Also the I-Blason Armorbox was totally out of the ballpark - so wide. So in your in depth analysis, it would be great if you could include comparisons of the phone widths. Also, at the end of your review when you show the phone cases of your choices, it would be helpful to see the phone cases without them being concealed in their boxes/packaging. With so many cases reviewed, it is easier to know which you are referring to by seeing the actual cases. Thanks again for all your in-depth analysis!

I have the same issue with small hands and finding a case that allows me to hold the case comfortably and manipulate it easily. I also really like a wallet case, so it would be nice to know which ones are wallet-style without going through each case one by one (presuming he even reviewed any wallet-style cases... I haven't watched it all yet!)

@@rainsantos I must have tried over 30 phone cases. I finally settled on SUPCASE BEETLE for every day use. It is *slimmer* than the SUPCASE Edge which I tried, and returned because I found it too wide and uncomfortable to hold. Unfortunately the BEETLE only comes in 2 colors (not pretty). I tried both the green & black but decided black looked better with my lavender phone. Plus I got the Case-Mate Phone Strap with Beaded Crystals & Pearls - Detachable Phone Lanyard to double the drop prevention and also add some sparkle to the bland black phone case. I don't know why the SUPCASE BEETLE (not pro) isn't reviewed. It is VERY slim, grippy, and comfortable to hold, and offers the same drop protection as the PRO except it doesn't come with a screen protector. So I plan to apply Gatatol [3 Pack] for Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen Protector [Fully Support Fingerprint & S Pen] 3X 3D Curved Tempered Glass for Samsung S23 Ultra 5G. I also got the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro Case for Samsung Galaxy S23 in CLEAR (looks great with my lavender phone), to be used when traveling when I want extra protection. I came down to the Spigen rugged armor and liquid air. I chose the liquid air but both seem equally good and the right balance of slim while still providing protection. From past history I stay away from ultra thin cases because though I have had some where the phone does not break, I can tell the impact gets thru a bit more.

It's really comprehensive case review i've ever seen definitely a thumbs up👍 UAG monarch is so cool, with adding a charging port cover will totally perfect The screen protector of Poetic is cool but the fingerprint hole that makes looks not good, it's cool provide a blank insert I'm Ringke fan since in Galaxy S10+, the raise edges design in front screen i can say that's a breakthrough amount S10+ cases, it got a great balance between shock resistance and lightweighting and cooling Ringke Fusion camo is my 2nd option but this time i'll try Poetic Spartan😅 Would suggest case manufacturer not only consider dust, shock, water resistance and also heat conduction/cooling in next coming design😉

The spigen tough armor kickstand may seem flimsy, but it's really hard plastic and the hinge itself is metal. I've been rocking the same tough armor case for over 3 years on my oneplus 8 pro, dropped it once and it hit the floor pretty hard with the stand out, I was sure it had snapped. It hadn't, simply popped out. All I had to do was separate the case, popped it back in and good to go, no damage save a tiny dent in the plastic on the side of the stand. Phone was just fine. Spigen cases are excellent for my experience, and you can't beat them for the price.

Like that you get an overview of all relevant cases. However it is most important that these cases protect the phone from any damage. This part is left out as no drop test was done.... because of obvious cost reasons in case one of the products failed and the phone gets destroyed. Besides that: Excellent job!!!

Blimey, talk about dedication to the cause! As someone with manual dexterity problems I find it frustrating that some websites make putting on cases look so easy for a start. One thing I'd like to mention is the cutout size for the charging port. With so many phones not having expandable storage it's useful to be able to fit a usb stick in the port, but many cases don't have room for them. For example my Tech21 Evo Check for my S20 hasn't got a wide enough cutout, but the one for my S23 has.(Both are great cases & I use a Samsung memory stick which is quite chunky). My Spigen Rugged S8 Tab case won't fit it either. I don't know if manufacturers will consider this as an issue going forward.

I received the S-view wallet and a silicone case (but no grip strap as on the one you looked at) essentially for free when I purchased my phone from Samsung. There was an instant rebate included, but I didn't want any of the more expensive items so I got a bundle with the S-view case and a wireless charger, and a bundle with the silicone (non-wallet) case and the SmartThings device with the instant rebate. I should note that I have ALWAYS used a wallet case, ever since my S4 (or whichever S series phone had the option of a wallet case that snapped on the back of the phone). The one time I used a non-wallet case -- for a single weekend because it fit better the bag I was carrying) the screen cracked, despite my screen protector. I REALLY like wallet cases! I have to admit, it never once occurred to me to dislike the fact that there is no closure on the S-view wallet case. Perhaps this is because I've always used wallet cases? I use a similar style case for my Samsung tablet (I'm not sure if they are still called "wallet cases" when they are considerably bigger than a wallet). I've had a few tablet cases that have had closures and I really don't like them! Flipping the case open is now stored in my muscle memory, so it was outrageously annoying that it didn't work. I 100% agree with you about the buttons, however, which is why I'm watching this video. I'm not sure if I will get a new case or stick with the s-view despite the "mushy" buttons... I haven't finished watching the video or looked at the prices yet.

Lovely review man but I guess you missed on one important and particular test that's becoming more and more prevailing recently: using navigation gestures instead of the navigation buttons. Some cases do offer amazing sides protection and a lip to protect the curved edges (which let's admit it is THE vulnerability of this phone) but we'd need to know if gesture controls (mainly back gesture) will still work as good.

On the newer flat screen phones, ringke is awesome cuz they have a raised lip at top and bottom and along the top third of the phone. Basically the bottom 2/3 of the phone have a recessed lip to help with gesture navigation. It's amazing

For grip and protection, how would you rate the following cases: Whitestone Diamond ESR Shock Armor Kickstand Poetic Guardian I know you said that the Whitestone Diamond case offers some good grip and protection - would you say that the same holds true for the ESR Shock Armor Kickstand case and the Poetic Guardian Case? I see protection on those two but I am just wondering about the grip along the sides - are the sides hard, or are they soft/cushioned? I'm just noticing that there doesn't seem to be texturing on those two cases - if you have a moment, your thoughts on this would be very much appreciated!!

I started with the spigen armor but my ocd couldn't deal with the finger print oil slick that happened every time you picked up the phone, went with the UAG metropolis, nicest case i have ever had and doesn't look like a pc gamers dream.

I have several from Spigen and the original leather case. Samsung leather case is easily the best for ergonomics - it has the best button feel. If someone thinks Spigen has good button feel, they have not tried the Samsung original. One thing I'd like Spigen improve on is the edge rigidity. My screen was cracked through screen protection and Optic Armor case falling on the side edge. I feel like the original Leather case that has rigid composites inside could have saved the screen.

I had initially bought the original flip cover case from Samsung for my S23 ultra. But the plastic buttons on the right are arefull. So I returned it and settle for a flip case from a company called dux Ducis. Much better than Samsungs own.

I used Spigen for my Note 10+ for over 3 years, love their cases. When I got my 23 ultra, I bought a few Torras brand cases, and I absolutely love them. I highly recommend them.

That is a nice comprehensive review of the best and the worst cases available in market for S23Ultra. I really appreciate your effort in making this video. Ringke Fusion X camo and Ringke Onyx are the set of cases I always get for my phones. Had them for s21ultra and now for s23ultra. They won't disappoint me. Onyx on s23ultra is not as comfortable as that on s21ultra. May be because of the box design. The only case I am willing to add to the collection right now is Spigen rugged armor. May be sometime soon. Until then, Fusion X camo takes care of s23ultra's protection.

Also tried the onyx. The sides are too soft. It flexes when you slide your finger towards the edge of the screen. Feels so wrong. Currently have the tough armor. Dropped a couple of times already. No probs. Feels solid really. I've had the rugged armor on a previous phone. Dropped a lot of times, including screen first. Never had problems.

I had bought and decided between the Spigen tough, rugged and liquid air. The tough is great but too bulky for me (simply because the phone is already so big). The rugged and the liquid are comparable but the rugged adds rounded extra protection on the edges while the liquid is the same thickness as the rugged minus those round padded edges. Both trade unnoticeable slimmer design for unnoticeable more protection. Meaning those two cases would do the same thing. But I went with the Liquid because it had green as a color.

i would not want the transparent card case, as someone sees those cards that might make you more susceptible to theft. Just a thought. The other issue with these cases is you also lose the ability to charge your ear buds on its back.

My Samsung case for my old 21 Ultra had a magnetic type closure, it stayed closed. I have lost a good phone years ago to a flap case that did not stay closed, and will never own a case like that again. Thank you for the warning.

I have the Milomdoi for my phone but it doesn't seem to agree with my Mous Limitless case. I think the protector might spread just a bit too far towards the edges and so the case causes the protector to lift off which is a bummer.

i work around a lot of concrete and other hard floors so i ended up buying a metal case for my s23 ultra, i had an otterbox on my s9+ (the phone i upgraded from) and that case just falls apart to ez. putting it in and out of my pocket made the rubber part of it stretch till it wouldnt stay on.

I have a question about 36. Ringke Fusion Matte Clear. I like the mate rear panel finish, how thin it looks, but I have a concern about cameras bump. It looks like the cameras are not protected, it slightly covers the 3 main sensors, but well, looks like it's not enough to protect them from scratches. So, my question is: does the protrusions on the rear side corners actually protect the cameras?

In the past, I have found them to be outstanding in terms of drop protection and overall quality. Tech21 in years past has been a leader in cell phone cases. hey nice review but do you think that open camera cutout in esr camera gaurd stand case could pose a problem if it falls one of these days , i know you have lens protectors but still , ringke fusion x gives you a full case in comparison to this . I get the camera guard working as a stand is a good addition but still the open case makes it a little less protected .
