Hi beautiful. have you tried nanouk in Semi -Hydro? I recommend it to propagate in water and transition to semi- hydro you are going to be surprised 💞

Hi! the secret to diminishing brown spots and crisping on Tradescantia Nanouk is avoiding to wet the leaves and, most importantly, air flow. If you can place it in a place with lower humidity and a good airflow, it should do a lot better!
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
Oh that's a good tip! I don't know why I didn't think about air flow for this plant. Thanks for sharing 😊

That's my experience with it too ! It's my favorite by far and easy to care for

Your Marble pothos is beautiful! Certainly not 'rare' & expensive, but what a nice plant. So are your other plants. I agree about nanouk...having same issues, I am 'over it' too😅
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm so glad you agree with the marble queen pothos! Haha tell me about the nanouk! 😂

I wonder if ur Hoya Latifolia needs a trellis. I've heard that some climbing varieties of Hoya can stall without something to latch onto. Might be worth experimenting with to see if it helps. Good luck.
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
You're probably right about the trellis, I'll give it a go!

Thanks for the video!!I had the same problem with several of mine. Potho is always at the top of my list.

Those Philodendron varieties are very beautiful, I'll have to add at least one of them to my collection this year. As for my bottom list, there are just two and it's all on me... I forgot to water my Calatheas for a week or so and two of them weren't able to recover from that... I could blame work stress and overtime hours because of covid, but it's on me. P.S. I bought and sowed some of these seeds a couple of days ago : Bird of Paradise, Phenakospermum guyannense (travelers palm variant), and a Coffea Arabica. I hope one of them will be among my favorites of 2022 👍

Thanks for sharing your top and bottom plants of 2021. Life gets the best of us sometimes and that's okay, we live and we learn!

I had the same problem with the Nonuk. Gave it high humidity, made sure to never let water touch the leves, etc., nothing worked. I think they’re just not for me, I’m not going to try again with them. DONEZO! 😂😂

Haha thanks for sharing! I'm glad to know it's not just me!!

I don’t think some crisping on tradescantia is avoidable. It seems to be the nature of that plant. I’ve never had any variety of that plant that didn’t do that to some extent. Nice video. 👏🏼

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Makes me feel better to know that 😆

Loved your video :) I think serpens have more delicate roots, cutting died when I tried rooting them in perlite but I had success when I put it in damp moss in a high humidity container! Now it's in a moss terrarium and I just keep it damp and it's thriving!
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Emily, I might just try that and re-root it in sphag!

I tossed my ppp and my siltepecana through 2021, so I guess they’re my least favourite plants. Loving my mosaica as it’s finally pushing out bigger leaves. The rest of the plant gang are growing happily, so they can stay. Enjoy 2022.

For your #5: Have you tried filtered water? Switching to filtered water stopped some of my plants browning leaves #4 try repotting your Hoya and give it a trellis. It will send out runners till it finds something to hold on to

New to your channel, 12:44 inch plants do well for me in the summer time outdoors. Not so much during the colder months. I keep them going just for the beauty of summer. So if you can do that or if you live where they can be outdoors, maybe try that ✌️💚😊

Hi Tracy! Thanks for stopping by and for your tip! I'll see what I can do to try that! 😊

Some of times the leaves turn brown from Magnesium deficiency. Try to sprinkle Epsom salt on the top and then water it. Maybe it helps.

Oh no, I was on the search for a Serpens for awhile, now I know why they are kinda pricy. I think I will pass because I don’t want to deal with fussy plants. Hm, don’t think I really have a bottom 5 of 2021, cuz I dumped or traded the ones I didn’t like lol. Can’t even remember now what I traded, I know a lot were succulents that didn’t do anything for like a year. I am too impatient I guess. Still waiting for my hoyas (3) to grow, hopefully by Spring! Fingers crossed. Thanks for the video! :)

I also think that is a Brandtianum 🤔 sodoroi has red petioles, even when young, whereas brandi has green petioles.

As for the Tradescantia, from what Iv'e read, they should only be watered from the bottom, in the plant tray/saucer. Just a little water on the leaves will make them turn brown... just what I've read, I don't know and I'm certainly no expert. I got the same browning leaves issues though
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
I tried to avoid watering the leaves and also bottom watered it too but it still browned. I think I need to give it more air flow 😆
@marcossanchez82272 жыл бұрын
That Sodiroi is it the real one cause it looks just like a Brantianuman? yes the Brantianum if allowed to climb up also gets huge leafs also!
@MyFellowFoliage2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcos, the brandtianum and sodiroi do look very similar but you can tell the difference from the silver colouration. The brandtianum looks abit more pixallated and sodiroi's is more smooth :)
@0207bmac2 жыл бұрын
I also agree with it being a brandi. Sodoroi has red petioles and these appear green 🤔 still super easy to mistake the two!
