One thing that helps with the mines is build a resource building next to the mine it shares with your resource building in your village
@survivalgameguide Жыл бұрын
It does! I usually just load up my donkey (if I have one) to make the mine, but you can certainly cut down some trees in the area and make a resource storage building at the mine, too!
@sartori69 Жыл бұрын
@@survivalgameguide Is there a way to do this utilizing NPC villagers as miners? Can you put a house next to the resource building that the villager can live in while mining?
@survivalgameguide Жыл бұрын
@@sartori69 So, here's the awesome thing about most of the NPC villagers. They don't actually need to be close to the production building (or mine) to do their stuff. The exception is farmers. They need to be close to the farm, so it helps to have a house close to the farmland. For villagers working as miners in the Mine, you just need to put some pickaxes in the resource building (which doesn't really need to be by mine, but it can help with building the mine initially instead of walking back and forth to the mine from your resource building in your village) for them to use. Then, as soon as they wake up and go to work, they're immediately working. Even if you just see them walking to the mine, they're still working even though they're not technically there! So, you can if you want, but I keep all my villagers in the village. Hopefully that makes sense!

Yes! I have two mines on Oxbow so far, which I visit day 1 of each season. And clean out. With weight on it's several trips. Built a storage at the entrance before I even unlocked the Mine, lol. Now I have one on stone with 2 villagers, the other on copper & tin, as my Vill is in the bronze age still. Once I unlock Iron builds I'm prob gonna need a 3rd mine, and another half dozen miners, lol! This game has legs because you can rerun it differently as you learn. Gg.

Chickens currently produce slightly more then twice the amount of eggs vs geese a day and geese around 5x the amount of feathers. Perhaps the numbers where adjusted in a patch at some point.

Ooo. That might have changed with the Oxbow update! Thank you for updating me!! That's great to know!!

Just build a resource shed next to the mines and you don't need donkeys to carry ore. That being said, you get donkeys WAY earlier and they are objectively cooler than horses.
@survivalgameguide Жыл бұрын
Love that tip! Super easy way to get ALLLLL the ore in one trip! But I completely agree. Donkeys for the win!

Its a bit out of topic since this is about animals, but. When it comes to fertilizer before you can get pigs, i prefer to make compost bin and fill them with cabbage (each cabbage gives 4 root) It is room for 150 cabbage in 1 compost bin. I still look forward to get pigs, sheep`s and goose, goose mostly because i think they look cool when they walk around. 🙂
@survivalgameguide Жыл бұрын
That compost bin sure comes in handy for early-game fertilizer, for sure! Or even those who just don't want to have animals! I haven't played around too much with it just yet, but I wouldn't mind some extra fertilizer here and there! And cabbage grows like crazy!

In ancient times goats were a first animal to buy to work a future field location. You do have to fence them in to start, which can be tricky since they will always escape if they can. Then you add some chickens to grub around for seeds the goats won't touch once they hit the ground. Goat are more like weed whackers and chickens are scratchers, looking for young weed sprouts and seeds that can cause a lot of headaches for farmers, or gardeners later. In each case, it is important to give both additional feed to keep them strong, but taking care not to overfeed them.
@survivalgameguide10 ай бұрын
Hahaha. I'm not surprised at all that goats are escape artists! Thanks for sharing the information!!

Hi, please tell me if coops need only 1 rooster and other can be hens, that would make sense for real life but who knows
@survivalgameguide Жыл бұрын
Yes! Technically, you only need one rooster and one hen for them to start having chicks. I think you really only need hens if you want eggs. However, if you want them to start breeding efficiently, then you should get at least two or three roosters and one hen. The breeding chances increases when you have more males. I hope that helps!
@dzej16 Жыл бұрын
I don't know of it is by all animals but I read on wiki about pigs (I think) that there is a chance to breed. The chance is high when you have more males

You will discover the first thing you want to buy in the capital city is the Simple Large Backpack. Your weight limit will go from 35 Kg to 55 Kg. A bit later you will want a pouch, large is recommended, but these things are not cheap. If you are still struggling to make coin, best try at least a few quests. There is also the fish trick.

Must be a nervous player with all the jerking around with the mouse. What made chickens such a popular first pet to keep way back when in life was not just eggs from hens, but the fact they could feed themselves from just about anything. The trick was to understand they don't need to be given a lot of feed, but in this game, that may be different. Even today it is important to do things like drill a cabbage and put it on a stick, or hang from a cord (thick string) so they can feed from it when they want.

What great information! Feeding the chickens in this game is definitely dumbed down compared to that!
