Shout out to TPE 3D. I totally forgot to mention it(also it's iOS only so I don't often get a chance to use it). It's similar to PhotoPills but has amazing 3D map features. Very fiddly to use and the 3D maps need updating but the potential is huge!

New to the channel, great content. My one recommendation would be Next SpaceFlight. For those that live in an area where you can see rockets being launched, this is great for showing what/when/where is launching.

Alan, Great video. I use most already but there were a couple I had not thought about. I am going to quite a remote part of Isle of Skye early in the year. I'm looking to do some milky way shots with the mountains. Would you recommend going with the moon phase up or a new moon. I suspect I will not get the landscape illuminated with a now moon. I suspect it is a trade off.

Hi ALYN you’re great man thanks for your vids! Please could you recommend good large monitor for editing. I heard that Mac ‘s colours are not good. If you could do video on calibration of monitor as this is imperative for larger prints I’m sure? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, take car bud.

Hi Alyn. Huge thanks for taking the time to give us all this detail. I use most of the apps you discussed but haven't got Stellarium on my mobile so that's really useful info. @Zenderful

I think it depends on the area also. Like here in Quebec, the weather is a bit like in Nordic countries, you can't have a good forecast for more than 1 day, so I use a combination of Windy, Clear Outside and clear dark sky (A database that data from about 5300 observatories and observing sites in North America) Cheers mate, thanks for that video, very useful

I found that ISS Detector has a far better resolution when zooming in . I discovered so many things that months after, some of my findings came in the news some even more than a year later after I discovered it. Like the strange hole in the Sahara, secret Chinese military bases . The enormes brand new build empty cities in China. And much more.

Hey Alyn, just wondered if you could tell me a few words about the CooWoo lens heater you linked. I do not really trust the reviews, so a first hand explanation to the quality would be highly appreciated. (I didn't find a video so far where you used it :)) Best, Tom
@AlynWallace
@AlynWallace 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom. It helps stop your lens from fogging up, you wrap it around the lens and plug it into a portable USB charger. Best used during long summer nights where the humidity is high and the dew point temperature is above the ambient temperature. Especially crucial if doing a long timelapse (eg. Perseids meteor shower in August!) where there's nothing worse than hours of photos being ruined by lens fog. It's also useful in cold conditions to stop the lens frosting but this isn't it's strongest point.
