Dekalb county schools are a gamble tbh. They’re either really good or super bad. There’s an issue with a lot of wanna be gang member children but if your an attentive and involved parent you should be good. Stonecrest I had lost a lot of value and the mall nearly closed twice in the past year. Dealerships are trying to keep it a float tho. Great video tho. I’m enjoying the series.

Stonecrest did not exist when I grew up there...from the main street area once you crossed those tracks, if you had taken an immediate right, you would have found the ruins of the old Bruce Street High School, which was in it's prime a black school. Lot of history in Lithonia!!! The granite in all the buildings was taken out of Davidson Quarry, and I went to school with David who was the son of the quarry owner in those days. So many memories there... I am 67 yrs of age, and I was born and raised in Ga, mostly in Lithonia from about 1960 and on to about 1974 when I moved and joined the Navy...haven't lived there except for a about 1 year since then...I graduated LHS in 1973...our graduating class was about 90 seniors!!! LOL!!! I drove a 1968 GTO, some guys had Mustangs, some Chevelles, some even VW beetles. I went to Redan Elementary from 1960 till 1968...the town is so much different now, but I still have that "Hometown" draw!!! I used to go to Rock Chapel Methodist church and so many of my relatives are buried in that cemetery. I say "relatives" but I was actually raised in a Foster home by Mrs Virgie Dixon on South Deshon Road. All that property by the Elementary school there was ours when I was growing up, we had 25 acres of forestland and there were VERY few houses on that road. Probably about 15 from one end to the other. Anyway, thanks for the video :-) BTW, I live all the ay in Washington State now!!! Since 1985...

I would not recommend anyone moving to Wesley Stonecrest considering the fact that I was harassed by an employee and the manager did not do anything to protect me. My stuff was stolen out of the unit and he still did not do anything. The AC has mold and there's dog feces throughout the community. The gate is constantly broken.

Dekalb county school system is honestly a hit or miss. I recently just graduated from a Dekalb county school, and attended dekalb schools my whole childhood. Since the third grade I was in magnet/honors programs. If you in the magnet program/honors program or attend a charter or prep school then yes they have great teachers and programs, but for a generalized education it’s a no for me.

Best school is Miller Grove in my opinion. I graduated from there in 2007. Outside of that yeah Gwinnett County has all the top schools I dunno much about the Cobb District.

30 minutes from Atlanta depending on traffic but that’s normal. It’s a quiet neighborhood but the roaches is very bad and they change managers a lot.

To say this been around for 20yrs, IT STILL LOOKS THE EXACT SAME!! Currently staying here, and it’s HORRIBLE. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY ONE TO MOVE HERE! AC went out back to back, during the winter and summer time and it took them MONTHS TO FIX!!!! THEY ARE A RIP TF OFF!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!
