Thank you so much for these videos. They are so informative for me in my beginning days of exploring natural fragrances. I just recieved a shipment from Sultan Pasha last night. Le Rayon Vert and Etude en Fougere. They are so lovely. Sultan also included a sample of Ensar Rose. Now I see what all the fuss is about. The other day I had dropped in to Birra shop to buy some of their Attars and mukhallat and the guy was mentioning that sales of sheer oud and exquisite had shot up after you reviewed them on your channel and was very disappointed to hear that I was not purchasing them ... Reformulation alert! Well after reading all the excellent opinions from respected reviewers on several sources, I ordered a bottle and all I can say is I am royally confused because what I am smelling is NOTHING like what previous reviewers have noted. This review is from July 2018 and I ordered directly from the Abdul Samad Al Qurashi website, so I am assuming it is current stock. You may have better luck with other distributors who will have older stock. The good news is that the bottle itself is gorgeous black glass with a beautiful top and glass dipstick nestled inside a quality, but somewhat over-packaged presentation. There is absolutely no smoke, no incense and no darkness at all. Just a fresh, lemony, powdery but admittedly lovely-quality rose with some questionable oud undertones. Whatever musky, spicy, amber or incense base notes might be present are not really a factor and if musk is used it is synthetic. Everything is light, soapy, fresh and it stays that way before becoming a skin scent after about 4 hours. No longevity, no layers that reveal themselves with any interest. My daughter said I smelled like soap. All I can assume is that after Abdul Samad Al Qurashi lowered the quantity from 18 ml.to 12 ml. they subsequently (though according to Exotic Scents not immediately) changed the formula. It is a very nice rose however, just not fully supported with any quality interest. This is sad news indeed, and simply another reason to avoid large commercial houses if you are looking for quality attars. If a Middle Eastern house wishes to sell in Europe they have to abide by IRFA regulations, so expect synthetics. What is even sadder is that it is possible they are tailoring their compositions to a Western palate, or their perception of what the Western market is looking for. Just as Amouage has devolved into a commercialized, synthetic mess, I cannot say this example of a Middle Eastern house's offering is what it once seems to have been. If you can find older stock through a distributor who has had some in stock for (who knows) perhaps a year, then you might experience what previous reviewers have raved about. You will not get that glorious experience now, unfortunately.

It's always a pleasure for me to watch your videos. They are so informative and interesting because you explain and Analyse the scents to make it possible to smell them without smelling them. And if someone is about to by for example a scent of ensar Oud witch costs around 400€ then it's very helpful to listen what you have to say about it👍😕. Cause 400€ is a lot of money you know? What do you say to AL rehab, AL haramain or Swiss Arabian. How is the quality of their attars and oils?? My biggest wish was to smell real musk or real amber once in my life cause I was so curious about that magic scents but a few looks in the internet took me to the ground of reality. I will NEVER have enough money to buy or smell one of them. 😭😭 Even a 0,1ml probe of musk costs 40€ hard for a smell addicted man like me. Hello Nikhil, I did not get your reply yet bro ??? I m still waiting bro please ... Thanx for the great informative videos and awareness about Oud. Bro I have a question and really need your sincere and honest opinion about it .. In 2004, I was in Denver Colorado USA in a mosque called Masjid Noor for Friday prayer .. In the entire masjid bigger hall there was a heavenly smell that I can’t describe in words honestly speaking .. I was looking around that where it was coming from but it was everywhere .. Then an Arab man looked at me and probably guessed that I was in search of smell .. he came to me and asked me like what I was looking for .. I told him there is a real good smell and it’s unbelievable but I don’t know who was wearing.. to cut the story short, He told me that it was him who was wearing that special Oud that mostly royal family wear or use it but unfortunately I did not ask the name of it and that was my big mistake .. however he put a little on my shirt that and you will be surprised that I had that amazing smell on my shirt for months since I was not washing it just for that heavenly smell .. And since then I tried many Oud in hunt of that one including Ensar Oud samples .. Oud samples from lickyscent and eBay and some were quite expensive but to be honest nothing really matched or got closer to what that Arab guy was wearing .. and nothing impressed me so far to be very honest ... It was the most appealing one I had ever sensed in my life .. I am a big fan of Oud but that kind of Oud only what the Arab guy had used .. Just to give you little idea so it will be easy for you .. in designer Perfume brands I somehow liked bond no 9 Oud and Oud bergamot from jo malone but they are still far behind than that one .. I did not like Tom Ford one though. I am therefore just wondering if you will have any idea what that Arab guy could have used ? Since you are the most expert one on Oud stuff I have seen for so far .. It was a kind of fragrance that I wanted to smell more, inhale more and it made me wonder or curious to breath more and more that day and it was literally a heavenly smell in the whole masjid .. And since then, I m in search of that masterpiece but no luck so far .. If based on your true experience, you could have guessed my flavor and choice, could please share with me any of the two names that you think could Match or could be the identical in smell to that Arab guy Oud .. I would highly appreciate bro and will be certainly waiting for your kind reply in this regard .. much appreciated bro. Thanks
