I love the Bighorn 2.0 for winter! Been using it since 2015! It has excellent traction for plowing snow!

Yes! Studded tires are the way to go! Here in Alaska, I use Grip Studs in winter and remove them from the tires in the spring. On my Renegade I ran Big Horns for years and just switched out to Mudzillas and will be putting the same studs in them. We'll see!

original bighorns on 12'' wheels aired down to 1-3 psi (depending on your bike weight) are amazing. I also screw ice racing studs that give 5 x the traction than in summer

Marc - super interesting, thank you! I need your expert advice. I drive a Polaris Ranger 6-seater 2019. My house is at the end of a very steep trail that gets quite a bit of snow (1-2 foot easily) and can get icy as well; this is because no one cleans it during winter (its closed). During winter, its impossible to come up or down in any car - not even the Panda Cross or the Jimny come up (except if it hasnt snowed for a week or so) and coming down cars literally lose grip and take off, accelerating until the end of the slope (100 yards... very dangerous). Just like the Panda, when there is a lot of snow, my Polaris (with regular OEM tyres) doesnt come up and slips going down (I tried it; scary). So, I purchased snow tracks and now the Polaris comes up and down perfectly.... I can even stop in the steepest section of the trail with great grip (feels super safe). BUT, I cannot drive to town 4 miles away with snow tracks (all paved roads). So, I desperately need tyres that can handle this very steep trail but can also be used on normal paved roads in and out of town. Any advice? Is there anything that will solve my problem? thank you so much for your advice! Maxi

That's the reason I designed the Glacius radials. I wanted a grippy soft compound and it to be studable. There's nothing else like the glacius on the market. I you cannot get the Glacius, a CST stag with drilled regular road legal studs (150+ per tire) will make a drastic change and let you conquer that hill.

Have you ever tried or know anyone that has ever had experience with blackwaters and how do they do in the snow/winter riding? That’s what I’m currently running but haven’t tried them in the snow yet.
@ATVGUYS4 жыл бұрын
Actually the tire is pretty good in snow and icy conditions. I've sampled 2 utvs with these installed and no real bas issues. The stags are much better but still the blackwaters do the job. Their only flaw is inconsistant balance issues that seems to be in the past. Watch for tires manufacturer after mid 2018 past code 3018 stamped on the sidewall and you should be fine.

Still have ITP Terracross tires on my Kawasaki Prairie 700. I don't ride much but do you use the machine to plow our long driveway. They are about 50% worn at this point so might have to try out one of your suggestions. Thanks for the video 🍻

No one will probably see this but ill ask anyways. How do the cst stags perform in deeper snow? Like around 30-40cm or something like that
@PowerSportsQuebec3 жыл бұрын
I like them better than the BH 2.0s They do pretty good overall and long as your 30-40cm of snow is not wet stuff. not a single tire exept a flotation tire will be able to handle that... flotations are awful on hardpack and ice though

@PowerSportsQuebec3 жыл бұрын

@@PowerSportsQuebec how much air pressure do you ride in them?
@PowerSportsQuebec3 жыл бұрын
@@matadorsfootball929 I had a tendency to ride my tires at very low pressure in winter. I found out that the Glacius like to be closer to the UTV manufacturer's recommended pressures because of the vey soft compound. so on the YXZ 12 psi front and 14 psi rears and it handles like it should. under 10 psi it get a little sloppy at high speed.

LOL! you gonna throw the catalog at me? The K299 is not bad but zero control, wont steer in snow and ice unless gassed hard in 4wd and it's got no sidewall at all. Cheap tire that's better than many oem inclusions on atvs but still misses the point on the main subject. @ATVGUYS4 жыл бұрын
Virtually the same tire a you specified in previous reply. The mudlite 2 is better because of the softer compound but it has the same flaw as any v grooved type tire, decent straight traction and too little side grip. If you ever have the change to try the bh 2.0 or the Stag in snow and ice conditions you'll see exactly what i mean.
