I re-did the entire primary system today. Further exploring the rabbit hole of 1. Lower profile between speakers, and 2. Better isolation between components and interaction with the room. A nice jump in soundstage layering and detail, with a better ability to resolve the details in the stage. I shortened my distance from the speakers and widened their stance a bit. Massive improvements in soundstage depth, which I typically have minimal in this room. Awesome day! Playing the 45rpm - TBM Super Cut - Midnight Sugar album in the video above, the piano keys are so natural in the room. You can hear almost every aspect of their being, the fingers contacting and sliding, the throw of the key itself, the slowing and thickening as the keys bottom out, the sound of the key hitting the string and that sound resonating through the body of the piano before escaping into the studio, and then the sound reflecting off the studio itself... Creepy intense...
The importance of high-quality interconnects and cables cannot be overstated. I have grown to fall in love with AFAudio for all my systems and gear. The level of resolution and detail they allow, with a rich body and accurate tonality, is second to none. They provide a soundstage that I imagine is just as the music was intended. Yes 2 subs with mains and vinyl. Absolutely a game changer because in the early days we did not have subwoofers and huge speakers can never create the base which a big subwoofer does. The trick is to properly place and adjust the subwoofer while playing analog. You get phenomenal sound .

Sounds really good... I have a Dynaudio Evoke based system as well and know how well it scales with upgrades to other components and tweaks. Is the Atoll SDA200 Integrated serving as the pre and power amp in your system?

@@connorduke4619 Yes, the SDA 200 is an integrated. Sometimes I use it as a pre, depending on which amps I have in house.

It would be a good idea to upload videos in 4K / AAC 192kbps. In HD/1080p, KZbin: AAC 128kbps. The improvement in sound is quite noticeable despite the great normalization that YT adds. If it were also on Vimeo (4K / AAC 192kbps), the sound is better as the normalization is much lower

@@cruise2023 System is as stated in the description and subs are active. But really not needed with the Evoke 50. They’re turned way down and crossed over at about 45hz. Not sure what you’re talking about regarding the baffles. Cheers. 🍻

Yea, funny.. I have had hundreds of system configurations ranging from $1000 to $30K+. The truth remains that you get what you pay for. There is no cheap way to great sound, maybe good sound, or good enough sound, but it is a "Pay to Play" space. I hated it when I realized it as it is hard to go back.. But yea, I can put together a KILLER system for $3K.... Will it better the system I have now? NO WAY, not even close.. But if you are happy with a $3,000 system, then heck yea, Life is easy.
