Have now owned my Automatic Omlet door for a year and very happy with it. Great design and works as should.

We’ve been using the Chicken Guard one for years, but it crapped out. My husband fixed it for now, but looking at this side open one. One issue we have is a long covered and enclosed porch leading into the coop, so the sensor now is about 20 feet away from the coop door with a super long pulley to raise the door. Thanks for the review!

Bought one recently. Getting ready to install it. I live in Kansas where it gets to 104 degrees in the summer and clear down to 20 below once in a while in the winter. Battery life and functionality in the extremes was my concern but your video seems to put that to rest for me. Thank you for making it.

How did your door do last winter? I also live in KS and I am building a coop right now.
@travisbritt15742 жыл бұрын
@@MrOldnslofly Everything held up great! No matter the weather conditions, the door always seemed to function flawlessly.

Back and forth on getting one of these and your winter clips just sold one. Working in winter was really my only concern and alot of other doors seem to have issues. Has your door kept up with the weather still??

Glad to hear that! So it has worked flawlessly even with Colorados extra harsh winter. I did have an issue a week ago where the door wouldn’t open due to ice build up on the bottom track. A little hot water and it was back to 100%. That is the only time in the past 3-4 years we have had it that it has failed to open or close.

This is an excellent door. I have 2.

Concerned with it’s being made of mostly plastic and it’s holding up under use and exposure to the elements. Great to know at least the gear is metal. Omlete appears to be a good company that has reputable customer PR

It’s held up for over 3+ years so far. Very few issues. Ice has been the only reason it has failed to close or open.

Can it be mounted on the inside to prevent sun damage, freezing or theft?
@scottyaustin3032 жыл бұрын
I’m sure it could. You would just have to thread the Solar cable to the outside obviously.

Does it still work? 2023

Yep still works and still on the original batteries. At 10% so almost ready to swap them.

WE JUST GOT ONE WHY DONT THEY PUT THE GEAR AND DOOR IN WHEN THEY MAKE THEM

I’m not sure it was a little inconvenient but wasn’t too bad to install. That’s why I made the video.

I would try it if it weren't so expensive.
@scottyaustin3032 жыл бұрын
It is expensive but if you have lost chickens to predators it will pay for itself over time.

@@scottyaustin303 I have a good door for night time so I have not lost any to predators, but it's manual lol
