Called EMF direct and was blown away that Clay picked up the phone and spent 15min explaining the other ball joint options and what made EMF joints what they are. Even though Clay was waiting on parts for a new run of joints for my truck, he pointed me to CJC to get what I needed without extra waiting. I picked up a set of EMF's from CJC for a daily driver 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 (AEV Prospector XL conversion) with 40x13.50R17's. Pulled these apart and they're awesome. For anyone installing EMF ball joints for the first time, I really recommend going over to EMF's channel and watching their install, greasing, and maintenance videos. The guys clearly communicate why a given process is needed, and what it accomplishes.

dynatrac are the ones where you can rebuild them on the truck, and the best ball joint you could buy.
@calebgodwin32242 жыл бұрын
@@Gramskee EMF has a race inside of them so when the pin wears it will wear the race and not the body of the joint. The dynatrac does not. If the dynatrac gets bad enough it will gall the inside of the housing and you will have to press new ones out and in. EMF race can be replaced while its still on the truck.

I just installed some EMFs I bought from you guys. The lack of hexnut on the bottom makes the install a ROYAL pain. They will spin on you when tightening. EMF does provide a video with some hints, however, their KZbin channel videos are really terrible. A review like this should mention the lack of hexnut. I saved 260, but spent extra time under the truck. Other than that, they're super beefy and should last way longer than the stock ones. Glad the install is over 😁
@narmale4 жыл бұрын
If they spun while you were torquing the nut down then your bore is elongated and you need the oversized ones.

Looking to upgrade right off the bat, I have a brand new 2022 power wagon with 4000 miles 3000 of those with 37" KM3's on stock rims. That will change soon. Just did one heck of an off road trip And The truck caught air to give you an example of Is what the truck will go through and why I need an upgrade. I'm going to need something alot tougher Then the stock joints. I come from the Jeep world Where all my jeeps had or has Dana 60 crate Axles and I used Teraflex Ball joints With Moderate success, this truck obviously weighs 3 times more than any of my jeeps even My J10. Will these Carli oversized upper and lower joints, Be the best choice out there? and since we're spending 800 bucks on a set of uppers and lowers I'm looking for the best out there I don't want to rebuild these in 1 season, I want them to last, So price is not an issue Are these the best out there?
@CJCOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, the stock ball joints actually hold up half decent under the Power Wagons since they're lighter, but hard off road use absolutely takes its toll on them after a few years. We sell tons of options, but these Carli ball joints are truly the nicest out there for these Ram trucks. With proper maintenance greasing, you will never need to replace or change them for the life of the truck. if you do manage to damage them, Carli will send a fee replacement under warranty.
@dannycameo8592 жыл бұрын
@@CJCOffRoad I will definitely look into ordering a pair! Do you by chance have the uppers and lowers in stock? Even if the stocks last till next season I'd like to have them on hand when one goes and I can replace them all And be done with it

Any time you bend metal that’s not designed to bend, it becomes weaker. And vending I back made it even more so. That’s why when you bend something that shouldn’t be, just be safe and replace it. Because if it bent in the first place, it will be easier to the next time and will be worse.

@Wisam Ben You just don't get it. You're commenting about ball joints for something that you don't own, and comparing your gasser SUV to a Diesel full-sized pickup. Furthermore, if you're claiming that you have 155000 miles on your original ball joints in a Chevy IFS, you're either driving it on the smoothest roads in the world, or you are ignoring worn parts until they're completely blown out. These parts are designed for hard use, oversized tires, and trucks with heavy Diesel engines. I know you're the authority on Tahoes, but this isn't a Tahoe video, so stay in your lane.

Thats cuz you have a lightweight SUV... our trucks WORK for a living and weight nearly 1,000 kilos more in the front than your Tahoe, we have to have these better options to avoid the shortcomings of the factory design.
