I’m going to have to look into these. Someone gave me a skimmer which would have worked on the 125 I had planned on building but the wife agreed the 180 would make us a lot happier.

I have two and love them. The twist off cup with handle is awesome. I’ll never accept another skimmer without a skimmer cup handle.

Do people not run them in vinegar first anymore? I've been using my Life Reef for years and it's probably the easiest skimmer I've ever used. I use a DC pump but I run it at 96%. The only thing I do is set the water height around the logo sticker but I rub olive oil around the lid of the rim so the lid doesn't pop off. However it is noticeable loud. Not deafening but definitely noticable.

I am glad BRS owns aquamaxx now. I bought 2 of these skimmers and they both came destroyed due to poor packaging. I never got to try them. But they look legitimately the best bang for your buck. You can check out my video on it. Really disappointed but I’m hoping BRS turns them around!

ive got the 120, Its an absolute workhorse for my 75g. Its at 67% power and I change the cup every 2-3 days and the water is always almost black

Is it loud or quiet?

@@josiahfryman7015 it makes almost no noise at what I run it at. at full power it sounds like a really quiet beach shore. The only issue i've noticed is if you have any chaeto or anything of the sort in the same sump chamber, the pump will suck it up and get really loud and squeeky until you clean it out
