The main thing with building bases is to build it based on the thoughts that none of your doors are locked. Let me explain, a hacker will walk through your base in moments when you are off-line, if they can get to your loot by just opening doors, you have built a poor base. It is best to use modular base modules that create at least a 1.5 story gap between the ground floor and the above floor where your loot and flag are stored, requiring stairs to be built to get to the loot.. Since they don't know where your flag is in the base it would be a random guess as to what foundation to try and knock out. If your really smart you build a base around a hunting tower so you can put your flag on top of the hunting tower, then there is no way for them to knock out your flag and no way to get to it as it will be far above the ground. These are all things you can do on official servers.

It is simple, if I have to deal with havkers that is not playing the game, I dont want to play it. Go to an admin maintained server and enjoy the game as it was designed.

Any tips or videos on how to build a base fast? Just started playing and it took me an hour to get three floors because of the cloth and materials… just seems like I’m doing something completely wrong or inefficient mabye ….

There are a lot of different techniques to building things faster. One of them is to cut long sticks into short sticks when building tier 1 elements. Another is use Shift+F to put all the materials into a blueprint at once. But until you learn the basics of the game to where you know them off the top of your memory such as the base building requirements it will probably take you a little longer than you want to build. Just hang in there and ask a bunch of questions either in my comments or in the SCUM community. There are always people willing to help you learn. I will continue to do my best to assist with your SCUM game knowledge as well 😀

if your interested i found something broken with the building system, ive kept it to myself in fear of greifers taking over servers but just know floating bases are possible.

Yeah there have been many ways to exploit building in SCUM over the years. My best recommendation is to report any exploits to the devs.

Yes, if you put mines outside your flag zone they can kill/hurt you

@@luckyjomerbartolome810 no the will not. There are times tho that mines will bug out and kill you. The only time this happens is if you leave render range of your base in a vehicle and then drive back to your base. If you drive into your flag zone to fast sometimes the mines don’t fully render so they have the possibility to kill you but this is a rare occurrence

Hello @bloopereel33 I am actually working on a video that is for beginners on how to get started with base building. The video will be coming out this week but to me it sounds like you have not built your FLAG. Without building a flag you will not be able to build a base. The flag is found in the base building menu at the top. Hope this helps and be on the look out for my new guide video this week because i think it will really help you.

These are mosly exploits which ruins the game. This is not how the game is designed and gets servers empty, making no room for casual players or small groups.
