I grew up on Cape Cod :) there are lots of small out of the way beaches that usually only the locals use.... a tip, to get warmer water, visit the beach on a sunny afternoon as the tide comes in... the warm sand warms up the water quite a bit.... my favorite is the several beaches around Phinnies harbor,, Monument Beach, in my home town of Bourne ...you may have to park and walk a couple blocks as the beach parking lots is/are by local permit only...

Craigville does have the warmest water for swimming, plus less shark sightings😂 A favorite of mine has always been Marconi of Wellfleet with an honorable mention to Chatham Light, which basically has no parking. Nice clip🙂

I can't believe that Old Silver Beach in Falmouth didn't make the cut! The water is much clearer and warmer in comparison to the beaches on the Lower and Outer Cape.

If you love the ocean and the sand beneath your feet and the Sun on your shoulders... And breathtaking views there's no place by Cape Cod in the summer

Thank you so much, so detailed and informative. Great video
Out of the beaches I discuss in the video- Kalmus Beach and the (Outer Cape) Nat'l Seashore Beaches (Marconi and Coast Guard) have the biggest waves. Also, Nauset Beach in Orleans is known for its waves.

You skipped over Hardings Beach in Chatham. The Oyster Pond is great for the children.

There are over hundred beaches on the Cape, Mary- of course I missed most of them! Thanks for watching!

@@CelebratetheWeekend what's nice about Hardings is there are 2,parking lots. Dad would always park at the 2nd lot. He always like to walk down to the light house. It was a nice walk when the tide was out.

As a Cape Codder, I can tell you that the town of Eastham is pronounced "East-Ham" and not "eastem", and we say it with emphasis on the "Ham", like "east-HAM".
@paramedivmso44 жыл бұрын
I thought that also. Im from just south of Boston and I pronounce Eastham the same as Wareham. But it seems north of Boston pronounce towns ending in ham as em. Like Stoneham. Said here as Stonehem. If you are from around here you know how to say it.
@lili83674 жыл бұрын
@@paramedivmso4 YES! I say both Eastham and Wareham alike as well, and yes, Stoneham is not a "ham" but an "em". I am originally from Newton, but more recently from the Cape. Now living in LA, where there is no such thing as winter.

The speaker was far too soft spoken and if there hadn’t been any captions w/minimal explanations, It would be difficult to understand anything she said.

I am glad you found my captions helpful! I do put a lot of time into them

The water is so clean it has a blueish green look to it like Florida and the Bahamas, not like long island having an ugly grey blackish look from all the pollution.
@CelebratetheWeekend4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I love the blueish green of some Cape Cod beaches; not all of them have it though unfortunately
@Jjonathanhart4 жыл бұрын
And I always thought only in the caribbean the sea waters were blue and green. I know the ocean waters off the coast of California are greyish black like New York. My guess is pollution. The waters in Bermuda have a lovely greenish blue to them, just like Florida.

I forgot to add that the town beaches are small and off limits to tourists...
