Hello! I'm looking to put a ghost mantis and have found all the right stuff except feeding! I look everywhere but nothing states how much they eat or how often, just what they eat. Do you mind letting me know what you do? (Preferably all the life stages feeding) :(
@bilithekid51253 жыл бұрын
Same I've found what they eat but not how many or how often 😩

I did talk to someone tho and they said 3 flies every 2 days, and bigger prey like mealworms less often when they are older

It can vary based on where they are in the molting cycle, so you kind of just have to base it off of whether or not they look hungry. (Image attached to help) keepinginsects.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/before-and-after-eating-1.jpg

So i can't really get the heatmatt to stick to the side nice enough to have side heat, my only option with the heatmatt i have is under heating. Is this going to cause lots of issues or is it still liveable for him?

My ghost mantis nymph just came in today and it’s currently in a mason jar. But, just now I watched it try to climb up the stick and go onto the glass but fell as it couldn’t get a good grip on the glass. I’m holding it right now so it won’t fall but do you have any tips? I recently sprayed the enclosure for moisture so is it just because it’s damp it couldn’t climb?

This makes me want to get back to keeping mantises. But my favored candidate species is Heterochaeta orientalis, currently. Do you have thoughts on those?

Ok, my ghost mantises are L3 now so should I upgrade them to the big enclosure? And I want to know how to house them because I have kept them separate from eachother.

Awesome video, i love the little ghost bois. They look awesome! Question, i have an arid 10 gal bioactive tank that was set up for a leo that now has a bigger setup. Seems like ghost bois need higher humidity though, is there a good beginner mantis that would like an arid tank? Humidity is 30 to 45 or so and temp is 75 to 90 gradient. Appreciate any info!
@ryanhill548 Жыл бұрын
why cant you just up the humidity ? the isopods and springtails will do better rhat way anyway

Great video, in last 4 days I watched and read a lot of info about ghost's but this one is the best one. I will definitely come back here many times :D But theres still 1 thing I m not sure about. Lets say I Got them for couple months, they are adults and I breed them so I can take care for their next generation . What do I do with 20 nymphs when I only want like 4 for example? Are they "popular" enough to find someone that would want to buy them or is it difficult? (I know they shoudlve been atleast L2 before giving them to anyone). I know I can buy them over and over again but looking at them growing from ant size to adults, seeing them hatch etc is increadibly interesting and I would love to be part of this process. Thanks for your time and sorry if I made any mistake when writing this, im not experienced in that "kind" of language, since they dont teach about mantises or other insects during English classes ☹️

I want to have some of these animals. However, my family just don't see them as pets. If it doesn't have four legs, fur or barks or meows then it's not a pet.

really nice video. Great info. With my Ghost, when i knew the fruit flies werent large enough - i opted for curly wing. seemed like a good size until the mantis is ready for the green bottles. thanks for the great info on care and setups.
