Hi Chris. I think I only have 2 oud fragrances. Creed Royal Princess Oud, which strangely, smells like sweaty feet on me for the first 10 minutes, then settles down☺️. Miller Harris Scherzo is the other one, which I initially didn’t like from the discovery set. Sniffed it again months later, and had a change of heart. This was when I was first getting really into perfumes, and realised that after a knee jerk reaction, a perfume needs to be put aside, and revisited later. Very hot here this week, so no ouds right now 😃🇦🇺

I wish I could say I liked oud, but I think I only like it in fragrances where it's not readily apparent like Argentina by Memo Paris. I definitely like it more when it tends to the woody end of the spectrum and not the barnyard end. Great video!

Very good selection! I haven't tried them all, but I agree on the ones I've smelled: Oud & Bergamot (I smell zero oud), Bewitching Yasmine, Honey Oud, Silky Woods and Oud Nude. I definitely smell the oud in Silky Woods. In fact, the first time I tried it, I didn't like it. But then I wore it on skin and as it mellowed out it left the most wonderful drydown scent, so I ended up buying a full bottle. I also smell it in Oud Nude, but combined with the raspberry it almost gives me like a smokey/leathery accord but, as you'd expect from Guerlain, incredibly smooth. I describe it as the edgy younger sister of Spiritueuse Double Vanille. I haven't tried Aoud Extraordinaire, but I have samples ofAmber Aoud and Sweetie Aoud and I hate them both. The oud is WAY too strong for me. Another popular one that I hate is Oud Satin Mood. I also agree with the comment that mentioned Vanilla Oud from Kayali and I'd also include Café Oud. Café Oud actually smells a lot like the discontinued Café Tuberosa. Tobacco Oud is a lot stonger, but when combined with Vanilla 28, for example, it leaves a very nice woody drydown. I also really liked the Oud range from By Kilian (I don't know if they still make it) and ouds from Tom Ford are also very approachable. I personally wouldn't wear Oud Wood because I find it too masculine, but I really like Tobacco Oud. Material from Amouage also contains oud, but I can't smell any of it. I'm sure I own many other perfumes than contain oud, but those are the ones that come to mind right now.

I agree on Sweetie Aoud. I can’t believe some ppl said it smelled like a buttered croissant! I got none of that. Wasn’t for me. I never tried Amber Aoud but Enigma Aoud I thought was very pretty. I also loved Cafe Aoud and only have a small travel but it was surprisingly my fav in the Oud line

The first oud fragrance that I bought was Kayali Vanilla Oud from their Oudgasm collection. I also got samples of their Rose and Tobacco Oud. Then, last year, I got Mancera's Aoud Vanille and Aoud Café and quite like them. In fact, I'm quite stuck on using BBW Vanilla Romance topped with Aoud Vanille. They both share vanilla, cardamom, and sandalwood notes and it's almost turned into a signature scent combo for me. I have a number of other fragrances that I've noted that have oud in them, so clearly, I'm no longer afraid of oud. Luckily, I have NOT gotten ahold of any skanky barnyard-y oud, so there's that. Maybe I'm just lucky. Oh yeah...I remembered some of the others...Oud Rosewood and Oud Ispahan from the Dior Private Collection. I actually got samples of those two in November last year, before oud was actually gaining traction and I had no idea it was a controversial note. Sometimes I think patchouli is more "iffy" in fragrances than oud is to me because in my mind, patchouli has to be really well balanced or it can be off-putting.

Hi Chris. Catching up on your latest videos. Congratulations on your perfume release!!! One video recommendation I have is perfume storage. My collection is growing over the past year, especially with decants. Do you have any specific containers, decorative or otherwise that you keep your decants/travel sizes? Right now I mainly have mine in boxes I get from purchasing full bottles. For example I have several cute boxes from Imaginary Authors that I removed the inner packaging so they hold many decants inside. As my collection is growing, I'm struggling with remembering what I actually have. I have categorized them by similar scent profiles vs brand. Any thoughts on storage ideas would be appreciated!

This video is an encyclopedia of Agarwood based fragrances. From those aimed to beginners to those for connoisseurs ! A lot to learn, a lot to remember and try out when the occasion arrises. The only Oud scented fragrance I have ever tried is Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir. It shocked me at first how poopy it smelled in the opening. Fortunately, that unpleasant odour evaporated within 10-15 minutes and what remained was really fine, elegant, sweet and creamy woody scent that was not aggresive at all. Really, really fine drydown. But that opening was on the awful side of things. Strong, earthy patchouly could be unpleasant at times but never reeking. Agarwood could be described with that word. Anyway, this video is a perfect guide for those lacking courage to venture intu Oud based fragrnaces on their own.

The way that oud is described always kills me😂😂. I have learnt to appreciate oud over time and I have a mix of moderate and strong ones😍😍. I also love Silky Woods😍😍 and I’m really tempted to blind buy Zenobia in future🤔🤔. I recently smelled Lust Oud Delice from Chris Collins at a recent event and oh my days, can I have a full bottle please❤️❤️. It’s more of a dark chocolate fragrance but with a base of very smooth oud, not sure if you have tried🤔🤔. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰

I am usually not a fan of Oud, and the only Oud I love I bought for my husband. It’s Oud by Aqua di Parma. I just find it irresistible! Might be the sandalwood and leather making it smoother. Whatever it is I’m a fan!

You know what they say! Once you smell oud.....you...know that I've pooed? 😳 No, hang on. That's not what they say. You're a cool dude. 😉 There we go. 😂 Seriously it's a deep, brown, rabbit hole of a topic that's for sure. Commonly used aoud accords certainly very different from the real thing. There are some ouds that even smell fruity, incensey, even floral. Shame that synthetically derived accords have become synonymous with the true material, but popular marketing usually shapes public perception doesn't it. ☺ Papyrus Oud 71 quite similar to my beloved Gucci PH, so I'll have to agree with that one! Some delightful picks here Chris. 💛

Love Oud Sakura, bought it in Paris last year; Zenobia is also gorgeous and sexy and it's a powerhouse. I have 3 other Tomavicci fragrances and I love them all. I adore Aoud Extraordinaire, one of my best purchases this year and I do have Oud Nude as well. I have a girlfriend who wears Oud Ispahan by Dior and it smells great on her. When I tried it, I smelled like a filthy billy goat....yuck!
