Best Bike For Ladakh Ride?

This question is something which came to my mind also many years back but that time I did not knew the answer but now after many rides to Ladakh, I can confidently answer this question. Do watch it guys it will definitely help you a lot.

For Motivation, tgis video is good. BUT you need to decide on the bike you ride in Ladakh. Reasons:- #1. You should enjoy the ride rather than pushing the limits of what your bike could do. There is no point of taking the shit out of your bike. Show some care and love towards machine. #2. The most important thing is luggage while riding. How best you could carry your stuffs for 10-11 days. You need a carrier. Does your bike support it is an important question?. #3. You can indeed go with any bike but worth mentioning, you need torque/power to get out of stream's, carry 20-25kgs of luggage and most importantly, the bike should not breathe heavy during treacherous heights. (You would end up ripping off the engine) #4. Comfortable to ride long hours over 5-6 hours of landslide prone roads. There's lot of struggle a rider faces and the selection of bike should be to reduce the challenges and increase comfort while riding. But your message is highly appreciated and definitely one should not stay back at home just due to the fact that he/she doesn't have the perfect bike.

you can go with ct100.. just keep your spirits High!!! taking bikes on rent from Manali totally depends on you.. as that is something you have to decide .. For budget you can see my video on budget, its from delhi to delhi,, but as you are coming from Bikaner just add that cost in it. the Video will help you in calculating cost. If you wanna rent a bike from Manali you have to again rent another bike in Leh as they do now allow you with the rented bike which are not from Leh, as much as I know.

vai .. motivation accha hai .. lekin mat ja 150 cc leke .. mei vi 150 cc ka bike hi chalata hun .. iska matlab ye nahi ki isko leke jaunga ladakh par ... be practical.. itna long ride ,, continue bike pe pressure ayeaga .. agar bich men kuch ho gaya kya karega .. atleast try to get more than 250 cc bike. if you are 2000 and more kilometer away from destination than dont go with 150 cc... and try to get any cruiser bike..

I don't know how many time you have taken your bikes to Leh/Ladakh. You are mixing few things here. Anyway Its a free world everyone has an opinion its just I have been there many times and seen many bikes, even scooter(Activa) these days enjoying the view at Khardung LA.... and not to forget recently couple enjoyed Leh/ Ride on 100CC Splendour, there is positive all around its up to us what you wanna see....ya Its true you need comfortable bike and powerful who don't need one, but should one person wait for it to enjoy the ride or not is the question. KTM RC 200 will go almost all places where people go in Ladakh area. It just RC 200 your riding position is inclined towards front so lot of strain goes to wrist and shoulders... but it will be OK as you must be use to it... and also just take breaks regularly don't try to stretch too much ...u will be fine Enjoy !!

bhai ye to thik hai, but i think you have stressed only on person and not at all on the machine. yes its possible that a scooty and a 100 cc bike will go, but still the responsibility you owe to the viewers, you must talk about the machine also. I will recommend you update this video with considerations for the machine also. You cant afford to go into extremes. You ought to talk about basic things and minimal comfort. So, I'd say these are things are recommended - cc - 200+ , ground clearance 150+, riding posture - relaxed/straight preferred, luggage capacity - at least 45 litres (however you are able to mount it, directly or after upgrades), wheels - spokes (preferred), braking - abs preferred, seating - MUST test for long sitting, or get it modified for comfort (MUST MUST MUST), tires - even if tubeless, put tubes (debatable). visor/windscreen - not needed for hills but very helpful on highways. Must carry extras/accessories for bike - fuel cans. charging socket, aux lights (preferred), tyre repair kit. and things like that ... my point is, ek bike ke jo bhi aspects hote hain, unke baare me aap baat karo ki chal to sab jayega, but minimum preference ye ye hai.

In carburetor the fuel and air mixture is jetted into engine at pre defined settings and in FI the computer controls the mixture and keep it optimal. You can correct the jet settings on high altitudes but that's something you should know how to do it. Cheers
