I found that a great alternative to run as a placeholder in your offhand is the Serpent God's Curved sword. It has less bleed scaling but in turn offers the amazing sustain of healing on kills. Since this build shines during mobbing, it makes you even more open to being able to trade with that high poise. It's a great alternative to tide you over into NG+ until you get your hands on the second Scavengers. It's also a great way to incentivize popping double Seppuku more often by relieving the need to use flasks to top off that small chunk of HP you spend each time you buff up.

I tried using another channel's build that was similar to this but used jump + L1 instead of staying grounded. Their rationale was that since curved swords hit 4 times during a jump attack it was more effective. I used it for a while and found that you had to be fairly good with your timing, otherwise, you weren't getting all 4 hits, esp if your target is small. I switched over to just running and using L1 to set up my attacks as you suggested. Works better and has a lot fewer misses. Good stuff. You got yourself a new subscriber! Keep up the good work.

Hi man, I suggest you trying the occult affinity on both weapon, this is because adding the seppuku on them reaches the bleed buildup cap, so it's not needed to put the bleed affinity Love the video, as usual!

I knw this is an old video, but important point i think should have been mentioned, the sprinting L1 attack with curved swords is the same as the jumping L1. This make the curved sword build (to me) way more versatile, no longer hindered by jumping L1’s.

You should power stance two Bandit’s Curved Swords instead. It has the same Blood Loss buildup of 108 but with a higher total AR of 488 at +24 with 50 arcane, 54 Dex, and 24 strength. You can farm multiple of them in a single play through and it seems to scale a bit better getting a higher AR. It weighs slightly more but IMO the small difference is worth it for the higher AR.

I’m guilty of making a build off this sword jumping but I find I do the run more often and not a fan of being stuck with the jump attack boosting armor. However I was doing occult instead of bleed infinity and going a bit heavy into arcane for some fire and blood incantations. Supposedly this was to make the build more of a high damage regardless of whether an enemy or boss was able to be bled. I suppose I could ditch the jump attack boosts and try for a bit more poise with my current build. Good content, my first visit.

any reason you chose bleed over occult? setting bleed overwrites the inherent bleed on scavengers and drops ar. occult seems better to me in general for scavengers/bleed weapons. am i missing something as to why you chose bleed vs occult?

Definitely Occult is the way to go for scavenger curved sword, no need to spend in Dexterity just reach 80 Arcane, Seppuku is going to be your best friend for amazing damage and blood loss. The build in the video is quite a waste of levels.

I’d love to see your analysis on which set up and spread would best leverage the interaction between fire and frostbite. I suspect some spread involving a cold scavenger’s and magma blade. Being able to apply frostbite and bloodloss is quite strong when it comes to setting off damage chunks.

You should try that with the occult affinity. It's like this... only I'm not sure why it does a LOT more damage. Also let's you stack just arcane, as occult scales off of arcane.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who wants to experiment: I'm getting a lot more damage by throwing points into arcane instead of dex (the occult affinity is no joke). At lvl 150, my current fave configuration is 75 arcane, 26 dex. With Millicent's prosthesis, the great rune, and dexterity knot crystal tear buffs, the dex gets up to 46 anyway.

@@J171-i5v Yes, but I've been playing around with the stats a bit since I posted. The best damage I know of currently is to do the following: 1. Put seppuku on both swords and use bleed affinity (not occult). 2. Have about the same dex as arcane (My 150 build has 55 dex, 50 arcane). It might look like you get more damage on paper with the occult, but the above configuration procs more bleeds (and that causes wayyy more damage). When I do this config using godskin peelers, not only does it proc more bleeds, it also is more damage on paper (compared to occult).

Hey titus! I found that if you go with occult instead of blood affinity on the scavengers, and spec heavy into arcane (80 arc 20 str 15 + 5 dex) you will be far better off, getting an extra 110 raw damage on each sword, and keeping a very similar blood loss buildup, since you now have more arcane. I know that kinda ruins the point of the 4-in-1 blood god thing, but I also think that this is a suboptimal way of utilising the swords since they have inherit blood loss buildup and therefor don't benifit much from the blood affinity as opossed to the occult affinity that increases arcane scaling. I have been using them in the coloseum which is where they shine imo, and they are extremely powerful because of their moveset as you have also said. Please let me know what you think and thanks for great high quality information!

Good alternate build, but if one wants to minmax switch the 'greatshield tali" for "claw tali" and get that extra 15%dmg from jump attack, simple math

Did you watch the video? I use simple math to explain why the claw talisman and raptor black feathers jump setup should be used with the peelers or twin blades setup and NOT these weapons 😂 these weapons are much better suited for using the way I show and not the jump attack. Short range and extremely fast weapons speed and lower bleed buildup than the twin blade variant. Everything about this build was optimized for what they are best at. While this build is also top tier, having the scavengers set to occult will save the jump attack build, especially when u up the arcane to 80 at the expense of dex. The AR will go up to around late 500s and the talismans will increase it even more. This build is just as amazing don't get me wrong. But to say the jump one is not the way to go is misleading. It's a matter of a more comfortable playstyle. If u can't consistently land jump attacks, use this. If u can, use the jump one. The bleed proc is insane and even to immune bosses, the damage output is also really good

That was not the point I was making, the point I was making was that if you want the max dps jump setup, the dual peelers are far superior in both AR, Blood loss buildup, and every other possible stat, making them the weapon of choice for the jump attack build. See my 3 in 1 bleed god build with the same stats to further see my point. The place that the curved swords really accel, are in their attack speed, which would translate most to running attacks and powerstance L1/LB spam.

that was just running my twinblade jump setup with these weapons, it is not a good idea, that is part of the reason I made this video to show people the real way to use scavengers swords. The jump bleed proc makes no sense with these instead of twinblades as they are bigger, slower, hit harder and have higher bleed buildup, so all around twinblades are 200% better for the jump build. These are better for l1 spam, but when people copy past their content and don't learn the mechanics, they put out crap builds 😂

Yes, it's a copy-pasted build and he should've used occult scavenger's curved swords and or etc but the videos are a goldmine for additional info. Just because there's a build out there that is better for jump attacks doesn't mean you completely give out on using it. The skumnut and mrBorkD videos show in actual instances when to use L1 and jump attacks more than your tirade. Jump attacks first and use L1 for extensions, skumnut still uses dual curve swords advantages over twins despite using copy-pasted build. Maybe the running attack has faster recovery or whatever, could've shown frame data difference or at least shown side by side instead of that cacophony with a bit of resentment for some reason. I mean the other videos are bad, but throwing shade in all directions is just bad business. Who knows maybe skumnut does one of your builds in the future. Maybe I'm just putting words in your mouth but it's weird to say they don't learn mechanics when the build in the video involves mrBorkD which did an RL1 No Roll/Block/Parry/Jump/Status/Skills/Consumables/Ranged Malenia kill.

I won't argue mechanics when you are bringing up jumping being good on bandit curved swords because Bork happened to use one or two jump attacks in his malenia kill video. Don't be stupid, just because he used a jump attack once in a RUNE LEVEL 1 speed kill video, doesn't mean that the peelers are not 10000 times better for that job. So the comments you made at the end about other build videos on this setup, I think I know which you are talking about. That particular one says to go all in on arcane and change to occult affinity, but rely on seppuku and passive bleed to proc the bleed damage. I am guessing you don’t agree with that approach?

no blood affinity + seppuku is better for bleedable enemies (99% of enemies and bosses). much more overall dps, occult should be only for non bleedable bosses, it gives a little more AR but much less blood loss buildup.

For your build, you'll likely be better off with Bandit's Curved Swords since you're investing in DEX with the Blood infusion. Same damage scaling and bleed, but much higher base damage. The other Scavenger Curved Sword builds emphasize the jump attack because they're also making use of the jump attack modifiers from Raptor's Black Feathers and the Claw Talisman. While Twinblades might have the higher damage ceiling for this playstyle - Occult Scavenger Curved Swords have by far the highest stat efficiency (you don't need to invest in anything except Arcane), allowing you to output the same insane damage at lower levels, or alternatively invest in Mind and a bit of Faith to also allow for Incantation focused playstyles. In your video, your infusions + stat spread would of course heavily favor the Blood Peelers; however if you look at the AR of Occult Scavengers with 80 Arcane (easily reachable with lvl 150), it reaches somewhere around 530, which is quite a bit higher than the Blood Peelers in your video despite costing less stats. Less bleed scaling isn't too big of an issue because the vast majority of bleed application is coming from Seppuku. Hence the other builds are quite valid, and you shouldn't dismiss them as being unaware of game mechanics.

I was talking about the ones using scavengers for the jump attack with the raptors black feathers and claw talismans. As I stated in the video, that is a job that the twinblades do a far better job at with significantly more AR and blood loss build up. The scavengers are more tailored to extremely fast moveset power stanced running attacks and l1 spam for incredibly fast bleed procs. Set the affinity to occult instead of blood on the sepukku curved swords so you do both raw physical damage to enemies who don't suffer from bleed and still get decent bleed damage with the swords having bleed on the base weapon. Also remove the greatshield talisman and add raptors black feathers armor and claw talisman to boost jump attacks because they're still a great option to start a fight.

you are describing the terrible build that I corrected when making this video lol... If you want the best bleed jump attack build with the raptors black feathers, you want the peeler/twinblade variant of my 3 in 1 bleed god build, kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6OsdIyNg8aZm9U . I convered the mechanics in depth at the end of the video, but will do so again. The scavengers curved swords have extremely limited range much lower blood loss buildup and extremely fast weapon attack speed, therefore they accel at running attack openers with powerstanced l1 spam.. Twinblades are much bigger and slower, and have much more blood loss build up, making them the undisputeed top choice for jump attacks. Occult is a huge overall dps loss on any target that can bleed, as you are trading a tiny bit more AR for a HUGE dps loss of %based life loss on blood procs frequency. Occult is great for bosses that are bleed immune, I will give you that, you can squeeze a bit more AR for those bosses since they cant bleed.

@@TitusActualGaming I mean you say it's terrible and I'm guessing it's because the godskin peelers don't have base bleed damage on them and the scavengers curved swords do. Setting it to occult brings the bleed to 86 on each sword and still gives you great base damage. White mask,raptors black feathers and claw talisman along with the talismans you stated and physick with thorny cracked tear and greenburst crystal tear for stamina recovery and also add in golden vow and your basically getting a 160% damage buff.

Yep I covered this in my 3 in 1 bleed god build, definitely occult with peelers and seppuku for my peeler variant for more AR, but on these the bleed affinity is lower so we kind of need the blood passive to proc enough

Hey Titus, could you please help with a few questions? I'm still new to this, never played a bleed build, just watched this and another 3 in 1 bleed of yours. I'm looking into a respec into this, is it still worth it at around level 65 no seppuku but swords, some talismans/armor? It seems seppuku is important but probably won't have it for many levels. I saw you mentioned twin blades are better for bosses, would this just be a better all around? Curious as to which would be the best all around variation as I want to just make one to respec initially I'm also curious about trying out rivers of blood, won't we have FP problems with the low mind or is that one meant for more PVP and less for content or something? I know you added the variations but I wasn't sure about the use cases.

with the 3 in 1 build, all of those variations are on the same character, same stats etc. You just switch weapons and talismans. So I would run Rivers for maybe a fast npc, then switch to dual curved swords or katanas running around killing mobs and exploring for some fun playstyle, then maybe twinblades for a high hp boss, you can just switch to whatever you feel like any time!

Dude, I just have to say how ridiculous this is even leveling. I had avoided bleed builds because of all the "hidden" and "OP" videos currently flooding KZbin. Now that I've gone through as a battlemage which was stupid fun, I'm giving this a go as my summonless run. Went and farmed a Bandit curved sword which I thankfully got to drop only after 20 or so kills, then rushed for the Scavengers. Grabbed Bell 1 and 2, using Flame of the Redmanes for the crystal dude. Cheesed Night Cavalry and farmed the little dudes in Caelid to get both swords to +12, then sent Margit, Godrick, and Rennala to hell in seconds. Going to grab Golden Vow ashe and Flame, Grant Me Strength, then the Draconic Tree Sentinel is joining them. Hoping to rush through the Capital, and get to the Mountain of Giants around the 6 hour mark. Love this channel, man.

I purposely built this to be the same stats as that build so you don’t need to respec to change up the weapons and talismans for s different play style

That is a great call on non bleedable bosses to switch to arcane. I wouldn't bother respeccing stats, just switch to arcane and go knock them out. The beauty of this is being able to use the other 3 builds without any need to respec.

A good second curved blade for 1st play through is the Serpent Gods Curved sword You can toss Sepikku on it and the blade heals you with every kill It’s a good utility sword to have on for a light weight healing item for any build

So am I missing something? Why do you need to use the scav curved sword if you are just going to add blood to it when all curved swords have identical arcane scaling and bleed buildup with a blood infusion? To "maximize" the potential of the scav sword wouldn't it be better to use like cold or occult scaling, or even leaving it Keen and giving it bloodflame blade or something? I mean for example at your stat distribution bandit's curved sword does 30 more AR but has same bleed buildup?

The Scavenger is much faster and the running and jumping dual attack hits 4 times instead of 2 for guaranteed instant bleeds
