I love keeping things as natural as we can, so great selections here. One of the most recommended options that I and many other eye doctors give is a simple 50/50 mix of Baby shampoo and water. I recommend putting it into a small travel size spray bottle, and to really give it that extra punch to those mites (demodex), add 1-2 drops of tea tree oil. Works great! My optometrist never bothered to diagnose blepharitis although I suffered with it for 4 years. I thought it was something I ate that was giving me an allergic reaction and avoided tomatoes for years because of it. I diagnosed myself before I completely clawed my itchy eyes out and within a week of using the ocusoft wipes I'm about 90% improved. Now mainly using Eucerin baby shampoo to wash my face and eyelids twice a day and finishing up with emu oil (not too close to the eyes) to try to rebuild the broken down skin on my eyelids.

I had no idea Blepharitis exists! I have psoriasis and quite a bit of dandruff and I'm surprised I haven't heard of this. Though I don't currently have Blepharitis, I will definitely reference this video if I experience it in the future!! Great product recommendations!

Best help is; boil camomile flower and mix 2 tablespoons of camomile with one teaspoon of aloe Vera gel. Gently clean your eyelids with cotton wool soaked in this mixture

I believe these eye cleanings pull the natural oils from the skin and exacerbate the issue of dry itchy eyelids. I'm at my wits end trying to resolve this issue.

I cleared my problem up w pure organic caster oil- first cold compress- hexane free😊. It is anti fungal anti bacterial anti viral. I put 1-2 drops in each eye at bedtime and rubbed some oil over top of eyelid. Then used warm wet cloth to soothe for a bit. It took itch away and cleared up the bliparius. Went thru so much b-4 I read to do this. Will also clear up eye infections 😊

Do you know if blepharitis affects the eyebrows too? My eyebrow skin is red, irritated and has flakes. The hair falls out very easily too.

Blepharitis is generally caused by demodex mites living in your hair follicles, causing inflammation. Technically you can’t get “blepharitis” in your eyebrows because “blepharon” is Greek for “eyelids,” but you absolutely can get demodex of the eyebrows, which in most cases can bee treated with the same products you treat blepharitis with. I’m fact, Cliradex recommends using their products around the eyelids including the eyebrows, and they have videos on here showing you how to use them 👍

Yes it can travel over the years any place with hair, I have it on my eyebrows and now that I’m 70 with peach fuzz on my face and ears it has spread to those areas.

I have pretty severe blepharitis with demodex i've been fighting it for the last year. How do I get rid of the hard layer of crust that never seems to go away on my inner lower eyelid rim? My eye doctor only said to use the wipes but it doesnt get any of it to come out it just irritates my rim.

Hi there, my eye doctor said I have to really scrub my eye lid margins because blepharitis is stubborn and i’ve been using the ocusoft wipes but all it has led to is irritation and eye lid scarring/wrinkling because of the wipe texture.I have no idea what to do in order to get it off without causing so much irritation.

I know this comment is old. But 100% get a spray. Dont get tea tree oil if your skin is irritated. Spray on pad and dab along eyelid margin instead of rubbing. I then follow up with an eye cream that has no fragrance. Just use a tiny bit of that.

I can relate with your comment. Hopefully your chalazion problem has subsided. I’m going through a similar situation. I have chronic blepharitis which apparently causing constant chalazions. Had chalazion surgery twice and it was traumatic. Now I just deal with them and wait for them to go away on their own which takes forever. Even get them when I’m not even wearing makeup. I’m very discouraged since there is no cure. I’ve been dealing with this for almost 10 years. All the ophthalmologist says is hot compress, hot compress, hot compress. As if I can spend 24/7 washing my face and using the lid wipes and using a hot compress all the time.

That “we love eyes” stuff is harsh and burns the hell out of my eyes. TheraLid or SteriLid foam is the best one but they’ve discontinued it for now. So frustrating. Trying to find a good replacement. Blephadex foam is the closest.

My eye is just swollen right now no sign of a chalazion or stye (hopefully) I do warm compressions but I just wash my eyes with warm water I don’t really rub it. I used systane eye wipes and it caused my eye lids to swell that’s why I stopped using it and I’m scared to get an eye wash and cause it to irritate it could you possibly help ?

Based on what you've tried, it's in your best interest to book an appointment with an eye doctor for a custom recommendation. Some of the products on this list are more sensitive (Heyedrate, Cliradex) and worth considering.

Hi, I have Blepharitis but only have redness in one eye. Have you experienced this in patients, I have minor side effects like a tiny bit of swelling but mainly redness is this common? I was told I had conjunctivitis but the last doc I saw said I have Blepharitis.

Yes, it is common to have blepharitis with redness that us worse in one eye than the other. I recommend treating both eyes to prevent further symptoms.

It’s an OK treatment option but not the preferred method.

It's because baby shampoo is a very gentle cleanser safe for the eyes and not likely to cause additional issues. It just doesn't have any active ingredients like hypochlorous acid or tea tree derivatives that can be even more effective

HELP!! I wore individual false lashes with a new glue from target. 5-6 on the right eye and 3-4 on the left. The lashes were unsealed in my drawer for few year. I bought a new glue from target. I put them on and second day of wear my eyelids itched so bad. Third day in the morning I woke up my right eyelid swelled. I removed them. From then my eye started to act up. My eyes inner corner bottom lid would swell strangely and puffy, gave my skin a thick wrinkled effect. Then it would go away. Then my right eye, the skin from my brow to underneath my eye all got red then scaled. From then on my eye keep swelling every 1-2 week. Dairy like ice cream or sugar would just make it swell too. Or if oils from my skin went into my eye it would swell. This has never happened to me in past, ever since the lashes. I though I got an eye infection/pink eye from lashes that will go away on its own but it didn't. After 2 months, I went to a eye doctor he said use ocusoft wipes it will go back to normal. my eyes didn't react well and I went to him again. He gave me another wipes that had tea tree oil and coconut oil. My eyes had better reaction to it. However, my eye still did end up swelling. Went back to him and he told me to use the ocusoft again. At this point, while I was using this wipe I felt sharp pain in my inner rim. It burned and stinged and I thought I cut my inner rim. Days later, my lashline felt heavy and painful, irritated, inflamed. I had unbearable pain. My whole eye felt sore. It burned and stinged. It hurt to touch my brow bone. The area where I put the lashes had a bump, and it was painful and numb to the touch. Even my lashes hurt to touch. My eyelid crease hurt, hurt to blink, swollen, puffy, felt heavy. Felt like waking up to pink eye everyday. I went to another doctor he said i had allergic reaction to glue and said i have allergic conjunctivitis. Gave me steriod drop and after 2 weeks. Brought down the inflammation by 50%. I was still in pain and he said everybody reacts different and I need to give it time to heal. He said can take 3mo to 1 year. I couldn't take the pain as I have to go to work. Went to another doctor he said I have low grade infection. He prescibed oral antibiotics for 2 weeks and antibiotic eyedrops for 2 weeks. My eye felt more softer, the bump got less painful, and i was able to touch my lash and brow again and my middle eye crease pain/swelling went down. However not 100%, still have discomfort. So, he put me on the oral antibiotics for another 2 weeks. I'm currently taking. Major improvement, However, there is still inflammation in my eye that's causing the discomfort. I want this inflammation gone 100%. Does this sound like a stubborn eye infection ? I thought maybe this is all caused by stress ? Maybe I have posterior blephoritis ? Is it possible out no where to have it ? I had doctors check my glands, they say its open. I tried to secrete it and the oils came normal clear very thin. Is it an allergic reaction just getting better with time ? Was it bacteria that antibiotics got rid of and now the infammation is going down but taking its time because I waited long time to get correct treatment? My doctor said if 1 in 5 docs check my eye they will say I have blephortits because of my symptoms, but looking at my eye its hard to tell. I need help! Is it possible to go in remission with blephoritis an get rid of inflammation.

I am in the same boat as you!! I got blepharitis out of no where, I even changed all my makeup products and some days it's fine but next thing you know its swollen, red/purple, itchy, flaky!! I miss my makeup and nothing has helped. I also though maybe its stress because it came out of no where

@@cassandraflores3640 Aw I’m so sorry to hear hun! Are you using makeup on your eye and product around your eye when it swells ? My eye doctor gave me ocusoft wipes to use because he said I have blepharotis, which is an eye disease (which I don’t have 🙄). He said I had bacteria on my lashline and I wiped vigorously. Fortunately I found a kind and honest doctor and she said I injured my eyelid nerve from eyebrow to lashline with the wipes. It got to point I couldn’t even touch my checks or forehead on that side. she told me do not touch your eye and don’t put lotion around it until it heals. My eyes have come along way and has healed tremendously just starting last month. At the time it happened to me weather it was allergic reaction or low grade eye infection, it did happen when I was highly stressed out! So, please don’t give up hope! You’re eye since it reacted out of no where most likely probably injured/ allergic conjunctivitis and needs time to heal that’s why it may be swelling and it’s getting irritated by makeup. And I don’t mean injury like mine nerve injury but injury possibly from allergic reaction or something. I took antibiotics for one month doxycycline just to rule out an eye infection. Be patient it will get better 💜 just leave it alone and don’t put eye makeup or touch it for up to 6 months. I know it’s hard, but when it heals it will be worth it. I hope you recover fast!

@@linaa4076 I let my eyes clear up after a flare up from eye makeup and it takes a week and if I wear eye makeup it swells up again. It's so stressful especially since I changed all the eye products and I do use hypoallergenic products. I also used ocusoft wipes and cleanser. They didnt work for me. It drives me insane. I'm doing my best to keep hope but I just miss wearing makeup whenever I want to without this problem.

@@cassandraflores3640 Maybe they are not 100% healed when you applied the eye makeup again ? Maybe wait couple of months ? When did it initially swell ? Did you wake up in the morning and its was swollen or out of no where during the day ? Mine happened when I had false lashes on and I woke up with a swollen lid. Im still waiting for the nerves to heal before I test out eye makeup :(

It started around march of this year, I thought it was maybe from a makeup cleanser I used because it was the only new thing I started & then I stopped it but I'm still experiencing the swelling, itching, flakiness etc.. I just bought we love eyes products and so far it's been okay.. I'm waiting it out.. whenever I dont wear makeup my eyes are completely fine when they clear up but when I do it comes back :(
