As much as I want to make my boltreaver optimal/max damage/pvp-able, I will never be able to bring myself to remove the magnetism aoe or the lightning horn attack cuz they're just too cool.

Currently theorycrafting a similar build, but for Rajang. Was thinking of using Silverwind’s White Shadow move. It evades 2 attacks and is active for 2 turns. It’s 21 kinship so a lot cheaper than using Evasion Riff from the Hunting Horn. Also some monsters attack twice in 1 turn when enraged so White Shadow would evade both. The only thing is I’m not sure if it has a priority bonus. If you take damage before you can use it that’s a problem. Will test this tomorrow or if anyone knows please let me know.

Boltreaver and hellblade are so bad I think it's a bug. They don't even stack up to low tier monsters. If I try this it'll be a on a good monstie, like Thunderlord Zinogre. They have high crit rate? OK so do the palamutes but don't have horribly low HP, Att and Def (like over 100 less att, HP and def at similar lvl). Or maybe I'm just cursed by RNG but for me even regular astalos outperforms boltreaver.

Are you leveling them up? They are very strong and the stats change once they get a higher level.

I saw someone have a boltreaver astalos with pump up and azure voltage and they were just doing like 3.7k so now I know those two and similar skills can stack up

I'm still working in a good Boltreaver atm but since it has that crit rate like Nargacuga's I went for a Crit build but with some powerful attacks behind it. Just missing a few genes for survivability like duplicate crit heal XLs to get a fully upgraded crit heal, 2 more crital XL Gene's to max that out, a bolt eater gene so I have a fully upgraded bolt eate, and the rest is just duplicate gene farming.

Josh's build was for PvP more so than PvE, thats the main difference, cotton's build here isnt really good for PvP

If you're having fun, that's what matters. I don't waste my time watching builds because in the end, I want to have fun. I have 6 monsties to play around and the reason why we have 6 it to mix them up. Have fun, that's important!

If you don't want to keep switching out your monsties, you absolutely need one of each type to make sure you can correct your monstie on HtHs if they pick wrong.
