Great video Love & Archery 🏹 ❤️. The difference between a Long Bow and a recurve is the string hits the belly of a recurve and Longbow does not . That would be a longbow . But thank you for a great video

I just got my son the bear brave. The draw weight is a little too heavy for him when the bolts are fully tightened. I tried to lower it but the manual says to not turn it more than a full turn. I don’t have means of measuring it but it still feels heavier than 15 lbs at a full turn. Am I just misreading the instructions?How many full turn would you say for it to go down to 15 lbs draw weight?do you think it could take to get down to 15lbs? I would appreciate the feedback. as far as backing the limb bolts out, what it is referring to is , only back each side out one full turn at a time. you should be able to back it out at least 4 turns, or so, to get the poundage down. i think ours is backed out at least 4 turns. on those smaller bows, as you get down to the 5 and 10 lbs. you wont get a lot of distance out of the shot though. that is why we purchased the kids recurves for our little ones first. thank you for your question. let us know if we can help more, and have fun!!!

Usually 500 just because that is what works for our oldest. He is competing so we buy and build his arrows specifically for him. Our younger two we often just cut down old arrows because consistency isn’t as big of an issue (and they tend to lose a lot of arrows haha).

What would you recommend for a 2 year old? I'm only asking because I can't find anything other than toys for someone that small and young.

Hi Melissa! The best thing for a two year old would be something similar to the bear 1st shot. All of our kids started with that and it’s a great way to help them start developing and understanding the basic mechanics of a bow. Some two year olds are still a little young to grasp they release, but a really basic traditional bow is your very best starting point:)

Hey Brandon, sorry, Life has been a little crazy over here. Standard 30” arrows are general what kids shoot. You can take the arrows that came with the bow into any shop and they should be able to help you get a similar, inexpensive option

As a 4H instructor I cannot recommend a Bear Brave or anything with coated strings and cables. 15lbs is more than alot of kids in that age group can draw. A better starting bow would be a Diamond Atomic, Genesis Mini or a Mission Radik. If you are going to teach form it is best to get kids into what the will shoot long term and let them choose between compound or recurve. Other than my issue with the Brave great video.

@@Motivatedk9 4H has nothing to do with PETA, and I don't personally hunt but alot of our members do. We actually have a hunting discipline in the shooting sports program that is pretty popular, and know we don't take the kids hunting we just give the tools to be successful. Now that is out of the way my original post was not anything bad about this ladies information. If you read my comment you would know that my only disagreement was with the Bear Brave and its set up. Now is there something intelligent you have to say about my original post, if not have a great evening.

We completely agree. We are working on updating this video. With our youngest we chose the Diamond atomic. The bear brave is not one we would recommend as a stepping stone anymore. There are several other great options out there. Thanks so much for your feedback

Hi! We started our kids around age 2 with very simple recurve bows to help them get the feel for drawing and releasing with the correct hand:)
