I gotta give this new generation of b-boys real credit!!! The art form has been buried away from the public masses. It never regainned the popularity of the 80's, and yet this youth didn't let that stop their spirit and dedication. In fact, they are doing stuff that was never seen before and was probably believed *impossible* in the early days. Well, impossible or not, they are *doing it,* and it seems very real (and cool) to me!

Growing up I was REALLY GOOD at "Break-Dancing"/"Electric Boogaloo"... I was known as the "Electric T.K."... The dancing I did was the dancing seen in the movies "Beat Street", "Breakin' ", & Music Videos... 1 of my favorite moves I don't see... It's the "Caterpillar"/"Snake"/"Worm"/"Megawave" (Depends on the area of the USA you're at.) on your back... Not the normal Caterpillar, you did a "Kick-Up", then rolled back onto your back, repeat... I haven't seen anybody do it... The "New York City Breakers" (NYCB) were my favorite, especially "Mr. Wave" of the "NYCB'... In "Beat Street" his routines were a little too fast... He did much better in some other videos I've seen him in... My favorite EB moves were: "The Heart Beat", "Robotix", & "Vibrant Waves"... The most talented I've seen was "Crazy Legs" from the "Rock Steady Crew" (Which won the battle at the "Roxy" against the "NYCB" in the movie "Beat Street". Even though I thought NYCB were better...). Crazy Legs actually invented the "Windmill", but I haven't seen him do it without the use of hands & he does it at a slower pace... Others do it fast & "No Handed"... But the best at "Ol Style", in my opinion, is "Powerful Pexster" of NYCB... The more modern Breakdancing looks like advanced gymnastics to me... You don't see much spinning, kicking, rhythmic movements... It looks like everybody doing a limited (Hard to do) number of moves, a number of them I've seen in a gymnastics competition during the floor exercise... Some look impressive, but I wouldn't do them... 1 little mess up & BIG Injury...
@krisjonesjones95145 жыл бұрын
Yeah crazy,it's come a long way since the 80s.remember Brakedance the Movie? I think it was called Breakin in the US,I used to watch it everyday before going out as a kid,just watched a clip and it's fkn awful lol,Surely they could have found some better dancers for the movie

@piar miah wrong!!! Just about all of these videos are guys in a break dance competition. Your opinion of this is irrelevant.
@DennisWilliams-nf2gn5 жыл бұрын
@piar miah Yeah, its gymnastic moves mixed as well as Brazilian martial arts which caught on like wildlife when people like junior from brazil went on tour killing everyone with this style. They loved him in the far east and copied everything those break dancers were doing 15yrs ago.
@ScoopDogg4 жыл бұрын
agree, grew up on Elecktro street sounds, i was top 5 in North of England, i was skinny legged and had to put divers weight bags around my ankles to get rotation on my windmills and crabwalk spins lol. Tried to do a windmill couple years back, and could still do it (well 2 rotations lol) but nearly killed me and the dog lol. We had breakdance to acid to club scene and all with grunge and Madchester scene . we lucky as to have had that many scenes. What have they got now. But agree these kids are another level on what we did, ive even seen better than this from Russian kids but cant find the video. one kid runs and reverse flips in mid air, defying gravity amazing stuff.

@ronaldmcdonald8303 Жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, these are trained athletes. The people who look down on this should try doing the training for just one minuet. Then they would know they don't know what their talking about. It should be in the Olympics and fully recognised as a sport. These people move like water and they make it look easy, this requires many years of hard work and dedication!
@alexnightflydance Жыл бұрын
Digger, Breakdance is one of the hardest Athleticssports of this Planet.. We do all in one to the same time 🎉 normal Sportys have maybee 3 or 5 Lovetypes of training... 👉 a Breaker have a loot more work to be a good Breakdancer and of course u can read in Name Break-Dance 😂 so short u have broken Bones by doit wrong turn ❤.. Uknowwhatimean.. We Rule the Sport and Dancing Sessions when we come to Party all Eyes on us... 👉 and btw we have Power and optimized Bodys that we can Use... Not like a Bodybuilder that not can touch the own Back 😂
@ronaldmcdonald8303 Жыл бұрын
@@alexnightflydance Yes, it sure is! I've always appreciated the skill and dedication of break dancing. I think the real issue is not that it's a bad sport, it's because there are stuffy upper middle class white mothers who look down on the sport because they are prejudice against African American culture and hip hop culture. Just because someone does this or listens to hip hop or rap doesn't make them a mugger automatically. I quite like a bit of punk/ hip hop/ rap!!!! I think that those who don't think it's a real sport should try the training for just 10 minuets, if they can!!!! Break dancing is just awesome and I think it's so intense and skilled, hard core to the centre!!!!

Some People need to stop with the hate for the new generation of breakers and start giving them credit and respect for the talent they're blessed with. They do everything Buck 4, Kuriaki crazy legs etc. did..headspins, uprock, Airflare, hand spins, no hand windmills...everything. Yes, the legends of the past started the movement and deserve all the credit.. But thank God, today's b- boy continued and carried the dance on and took to a whole new level.

Another really, really good channel you should check out is "Bboy Magneto". His channel really helped me, as well with a bunch of content. I also consider it must-visit.
