Not really, found mostly in the North. In the West we make Puri, which we have with Batata Bhaaji or Shrikhand. Or we have something called Vade (not to be confused with Vada Pao), which is like a Puri but made of roasted lentil flour. Vade are usually had with a Chicken Curry. Chole Bhature is something that you might see in a fast food restaurant rather than street food.

Just remember the bathure has to be perfectly balloon shaped when fired...that's when it's perfect to eat... If its flat or not proper u wouldn't enjoy it at all ... Just a little suggestion... since we also find it difficult to make bathure at home ... we prefer to replace it with Puri.. Those are small ballon shaped breads.... And we make it with wheat flour ... the original receipe is made with maida or called as refined flour... Also if you are making it for the first time ...start with making puri... that would be way more easier to make compared to bathure ...
