Thanks, you started with a couple of fine machines that are rarely seen. Too many people just want Vincents and Manxes.

Agree on the smaller model often being the better choice.

Great video. Can you give some info on the Triumph duplex frame; when, why, what models used it, and why it was discontinued? Thanks.
@bikerdood11004 ай бұрын
Sounds like a video in itself doesn’t it Wasn’t so much of a duplex rather twin down tube The problem by reputation at least was poor bracing around the swinging arm The single down tube represented a complete rework of the chasis with better bracing Still not the best available frame though although it did evolve into a very capable frame by the late 60s

Excellent look back at some wonderful bikes. May I just mention that your mic sounds a little muffled (to me ears, at least).

Back in the day, the Triumph motorcycle agency in Coventry was William Brandish & Son; Walter William Brandish had ridden a Triumph to second place in the 1922 Isle of Man Senior TT. Walter died in 1935 and is buried in the London Road Cemetery, Coventry. Brandish's used to have this wonderful gleaming Bathtub Tiger Ton-Ten in their window back in 1958 and I thought it a magnificent bike. The Domi 99 would be my second pick of the era, though there were many that claimed my attention.

Must have been quite a character walter certainly know of him from his racing And Brandish corner of course
@chrisweeks69734 ай бұрын
@@bikerdood1100 Yes, Brandish Corner on the IoM TT circuit was so named after his crash there in practice for the 1923 race. He broke his leg. His dealership (also sold Vauxhall) was in Whitefriars Street; a sports centre now occupies the site. The Rover, Standard-Triumph car dealership in Queen's Road Coventry was owned for 47 years by Percy Blamire, who was previously head tester for Norton. Percy was also a noted pilot of a Miles Gemini 3C aircraft.
