Interactive Brokers has branch in few countries, they dont force PDT. I use IB in Ireland. IB has two tiers for comissions. 0.0035$/share (minimum fee 0.35$ one side) or 0.0005$/share (minimum fee 1$ one side). This means that depending how many shares you usually buy/sell, you can choose which tier fits you better. There is exchange fees on other tier too and other no. So well less then 300 shares, I recommend using that 0.0035 tier. More then that, the other one is better on fees:wise.

I dont really understand the fee model. Isnt 0.0035 per share not always better than 0.005? Why would that change with higher share size over 300? @@AlexF-qx7co I dont think you can really choose the branch of interactive brokers you end up with. If you sign up with them, they just assign you to one of their subsidiary. I got put into IB in Ireland. As a US citizen you would probably end up with their IB in the US.

Question on Lightspeed commission. It looks like for stock the cost is $0.00225 per share. So for 10,000 share purchase and sale it would be $45? So if I took 3 trades a day at 10,000 shares each, that would be $35,100 for the year? That is a lot of commission? Even if you made $150k trading which is great for a day trader, you You still gave the broker $35k which is 23.4% of your gross earnings so you net just under $115k. 🤔

hi Ross ~ 1st, T H A N K Y O U ♾️ More of a platform question than a broker issue - started trading with CMEG yesterday, small account - using Sterling & having order issues - it handles limit orders strangely, for instance, and their terminology is unique. It was a green day, but the fees took 60% of that and am now wondering if it was how I set up the hot buttons/fills. I am proficient and profitable on TDA/TOS - blew my PDT, so for now am using CMEG to wait it out.
