Thank you so much for all the videos regarding Drift-setups, testing and comparing different components. I'm just about to purchase my first RC-Drift car and was already at 800€ when I thought... well... that's a little too much in case I don't really use it that much or can't even tell the difference due to lack of knowledge/skills. So I will start with a cheaper (but still working) setup, probably spend "like you said" more on a gyro or directly get the DP 302 V4 (if that is compatible) and start from there. I'm usually one of those who say, "who buys cheap - buys twice" and this will still hold true, but I'm also very incapable of making decisions. The more options I have, being it buying something or tuning, the more frustrated I get. So the less tuning options there are at the beginning the more I will actually drive and not tinker. Still not sure about the motor though... You said in one video that it does not actually matter getting a 10.5 or 13.5 as you still habe the gears for adjustment. I'll probably get the 13.5 and some gears because either way - its for drifting and not high-speed.

The esc i had years ago lacled alot of tuning. This ESC is pretty good in my eyes with little to compare too in my experience. I do so much tuning on this esc that my throttle cables ripped off and had to solder them back. I would love a high end esc for more tuning options but im content. Ill buy higher end equipment when i upgrade my chassis to something classy..slowly getting my sakura d5 chassis to handle how i want it now and the chassis squats and lifts a good amout fpr my taste .Honestly like how you need to do so much tuning for it to slide right. Besides buying adjustable front and rear arms and front and rear knuckles, i snagged a last instock d5 swing arm absorber for the front shocks that replace the shock tower. Hopefully its comes in today to do more tuning. Im an asphalt drifter

With an ESC like this, you can tune the strength of the brake for sure. You do NOT want the car to immediately switch directions - that will break a lot of parts.

Thank you for this! That's a huge savings. Which motors would pair well with this? I see the D10 on amazon for $90, as a drift noob is that overkill for me? I've got a mostly stock MST RMX 2.5 but just added a yoko v4 gyro, yoko sp-02D servo, and Noble NB4.
@RoadsideRC26 күн бұрын
Hi there! Glad to help. The D10 for $90 is a OK deal. Honestly - the motor is the best place to cut corners on a drift car build. Spend more on the gyro, servo, transmitter, ESC....then motor. In that order. Here is a cheaper one that does everything you need, just out of stock at the moment: alnk.to/h6GD7Jk Here is a really good alternative: alnk.to/gzWmbjq Have fun!

Hello buddy, great channel I just bought a strong Ezrun D10 Drift, will the ESC from MST RTR be able to handle this engine? Thank you in advance for your answer.

It will be able to run it - as the motor can work in a non-sensored mode. However - the benefit of such a motor is to run in the sensored mode. Basically, you will see almost no benefit compared to the stock motor.

@hyperc5249 Between those - I would 100% suggest you stick with the Yokomo or Redcat. The Redcat will be very solid straight out of the box - and not cost you a lot in upgrades. Yokomo will benefit from more upgrades, but will also have a higher final performance ceiling as well. Instead of the RD kit from Yokomo, if you go straight to the SD, it will have a lot of the good parts on it already. Food for thought.
