BEST BUDGET RANKED DECK for Master Duel - TRUE DRACO (FREE TO PLAY)

As a True Draco player (don't judge me) I might add that the spells and traps tribute summon effects are different from the other 2 effects. You can get the extra tribute summon of Disciples or Heritage even if you dont use the recycle or pop spells/traps effect, the same goes for Return and Apocalypse, you don't need to pop a monster, halve stats or revive a draco to get the tribute in your opponent's turn. The draco cards work as if they had a Escalation of the Monarchs type effect built into them, and you should read them as having 3 effects, each of them independent of the other 2: The extra tribute summon effect (just activate it to gaint the extra tribute), the destruction effect (that needs the card to be sent to GY) and the unique effect of each card. This explanation is long but the "after this eff resolves" part is kinda confusing for people. Second, Amano (or Inspector Boarder, if you decide to play one or the other) doesn't negate effects, it prevents the activation of monster effects on hand, field, GY, or pretty much everywhere. The difference between the 2 is that a negation stops the resolution of the eff, but lets the player pay the cost, and that cost may be important for some interactions (for example, skill drain negates Neptabyss effect to add after dumping a water monster, but the water monster dumping is a cost, and some water monsters gain effects in GY if sent by water monsters, so, you may have stopped one effect, but the ones in GY cannot be stopped by skill drain). Amano and Boarder prevent activation, so you can't even pay the cost of effects with them on the field. Finally, some tips when playing True Draco. 1st, there is no repetition during damage step: you see, when you attack and during attack declaration the attack target changes, you may choose to redirect the attack or stop it. This doesnt happen duting damage calculation, so, if you only have Apocalypse and 1 draco monster and are facing a possible lethal attack, you can wait until damage step to destroy that monster with Apoc eff to halve stats, so, the first attacking monster doesn't get a repetition, meaning you stopped the attack, and the other ones get halve stats, so you receive way less damage than you would originally receive. Second, the spells and traps effs on the GY don't workif their activation on field is negated. Let's say you activate a draco spell, your opp negates it with something and the card goes to gy, because the card activation didn't proceed, the card is treated as never have been on the field, so, the effect of "when this card leaves the field" cannot be used. This applies to everything in the game actually, if a summon/activation is negated, then the monster or card is treated as never been summon or activated. For spells and traps, this is called "activation window", so, if you activate from hand, or set a card and the flip to activate, your opp can negate its activation during that window. To avoid this, you can set the card, and tribute over it, so you dont give the chance for it to be negated. If a card is already on the field face up (meaning your opp didn't negate it when it activated) and you or your opp cause it to go to the GY, then the eff can proceed, because it was already on the field.

@@druzzt385 Haven't tried to use KC on Draco (didn't even know it was at 3 in MD), but I still would prefer There can be only one over it, since your opp can destroy either your monsters or KC in order to disable it's eff, but if you play TCBOO, the only way they can get rid of it is by destroying it, and that you can try to avoid or get some cards from your Draco effs. Also, TCBOO can be used as a response and stop combos with or without monsters on your field (you are playing draco, it may happen that you dont summon anything and just set 5) KC does nothing unless you summon 1 monster

To make the deck even cheaper you can add 3 monarchs erupt which is a 1 sided skill drain for any deck that tribute summons so it doesn't turn off your true Draco effects like skill drain does. It's also not SR like skill drain is. And you don't have to pay life points. It just has a condition to keep on the field that is easy in true draco

I made an even lore budget version of this budget deck so I can use it while I build up the cp for the deck I want, 1 skill drain and 3 monarchs erupt, 2 card of demise, 2 duality and 3 shard of greed, also only 2 amano iwato and a third copy of the other R draco monster instead

cards like solem judgment and solem strike , imperial order, max c mabey. you actually dont want to play handtarps because of card of demise, but max c is so strong you could consider it,i became platinum with a version off the deck which isnt using any ultras and it was very easy. in platinum it gets more difficult. which card youzmust add is monarch errupt when playing this deck, dont know whsy he doesnt has it in the deck.

true draco apocalypse is a non targeting way to permanently half all of your opponents monster's atk/def I tried it with Maxx c but I don't think hand traps are good at all given card of demise, plus the higher on ladder you climb the more trap decks you'll encounter, so a lot of handtraps don't really help your matchups that much and you backrow should be good enough to stop combo on its own

For an expensive version you could run Solemn Judgement x3 (maybe even Solemn Strike, but Skill Drain and Monarchs Erupt being at 3 are probably enough) Imperial Order, There can be only one x3 (TCBOO for friends) Upstart goblin x3 (make sure you stay under 40 cards if you decide to play upstart) Inspector Boarder (this one isn't really needed, it's only good when going 1st and for going second Amano is better). Just be aware that an expensive version isn't much better, the cards that will make the biggest impact would be Solemn Judgment and Imperial Order, and maybe TCBOO, but not as much as the other two. You don't run handtraps or Extra deck in Draco, but still, crafting a better deck would be better than a full powered expensive True draco deck Edit: Vanity's emptiness is also a very good card for draco, but is a UR and is banned in the TCG and limited in MD, and a bit hard to use since you can deactivate it yourself even unintentionally, due to draco destroy heavy playstyle

True dracos are still very competitive i got to plat relatively easily most “meta” decks suffocate with the monarchs erupt and there can only be one combo. Also some hand traps can be helpful especially going second.

Have you done, and if not could you help me out with a Gem-Knight deck? Haven't played for a decent time since a little bit before the pandemic, and in that time I was working on getting some cards I needed for a Chaos Ancient Gear Giant (CAGG) deck which I was in love with back in the day, but was never able to complete the set, recently I was able to go to my nearest TCG store which is 3 hours away cause the nearer ones closed down and the store owner I was talking to about the game told me CAGG wasn't viable anymore, I think it may still be a good deck as long as I'm noy unlucky enough to run into a monster with an effect that can shut him down before he reaches battle phase so a CAGG deck would be nice too, but in my journey through the games solo campaigns to see what other decks I can find cool I found the Gem-Knights, which were so fun I ended up using some of my 12k gems for the first time and buying 10 secret packs for them and got Gem Knight Brilliant Lady and Gem Knight Master Diamond which I think are 2 of the best cards for the deck, so far it's been fun, but sometimes I feel like it needs something else and I'd like a more experienced players help and tips to optimize the deck.

Hey I can help. Have you got any SR materials while playing the game? You can craft all these cards if you got 30 of the rarity points accumulated by dismantling cards and earning them via battle pass. I wouldn't go for the packs unless there is a staple card that can be pulled from the secret pack or if they contain some cards you need for a deck that is SR or above. Since Draco doesn't have a secret pack, your best bet is to craft them when you have enough materials to do so. Feel free to ask me anything if you need any assistance.

I think the best thing to do is pull from a secret pack for another deck, and whatever trash cards you get, dismantle them and craft these cards from those. Master pack has too many cards in it, and secret packs roll half their cards from the master pack stock I believe, so you can still get something you need if you're lucky.

I started off with a Prank Kids Thunder Dragon Deck, and I'm actually gonna go for the Budget Draco Deck second and then the Budget Elderich Deck Third. I even thought about the Dino Decks but that deck is just filled with Super Rares, so going to be a huge grind. Maybe there's a Budget Dino Deck in the future, but from what I saw at least (which isn't much since I'm a newbie in Yugioh) there are a lot of core cards that you need.
