Thank you for posting these "budget" cruise lines. Onboard frills are not important to me, so it's good to see that I can still do a river cruise that I can afford. I just ran into the receipt for my Russian Waterways trip in 1993, 15 days, single cabin all-inclusive, and including round-trip airfare it was $2,500. I know inflation has changed the picture, but some mentioned in this video look promising.

You missed out on the most budget friendly cruise line, TUi flights included (uk) , transfer included, excursions included, wine , beer & soft drinks included with lunch & dinner.

Great summary of affordable river cruises, thanks Kofo! (It looks like Vantage Travel has now closed, boo...) I would be interested if there are even cheaper cruises maybe at a local level...when a family is going together, it gets quite expensive even with these 'budget' options. That said I hadn't heard of several of these cruise lines so thanks very much for providing tips on each!

@@rogerbaker5090 it depends on the budget. If there isn’t much difference in The prices, I would definitely go with Avalon. But Gate1 was good for the price.

Thanks for doing this!❤ which River Cruise line do you feel has the healthiest and quality food on it? We have only been on Viking’s. I love them but I think that they feel that Americans love sugar etc in their food and aren’t healthy eaters. Love Viking but wish their food was healthier…🤷‍♀️

I know on Viking (which she does not mention here) you can bring wine on board that you have purchased at one of the stops. No corkage fee!

I used to put an effort into inviting and asking friends to join me on a trip. After one literally did not respond to my invite and another who just cannot do it anymore due to other life commitments, I realized solo traveling and joining a group in a tour is an excellent way of meeting new and possibly like minded people.

I definitely would not give any company straight cash. There’s no protection there. Should the cruise line go bankrupt. You would never get your money back.. is best to put it on a credit card and have travel insurance that includes cruise company bankruptcies

Nice advert, but not much in the way of numbers. Anyone looking for "budget anything" wants to see a price tag first, sales pitch last, even if it's only an estimate :o)

Hi Amine, I do not. From a quick internet search, it looks like it's one of Scylla's companies that hires hotel crew for river cruise vessels. in Europe. Hope that helps.

Viking wants full payment a YEAR in advance
