So I bought these speakers, and all I can say is that I feel I've never really heard music before. With other speakers it's obvious you're hearing sound from the tweeter on the left and right. With these, it's like you're sitting in front of a live stage with a wall of sound in front of you. And the bass is just as amazing. Tears of joy listening to music I've heard all my life, but really, really hearing it for the first time.

First time on the channel, great review, appreciate the context. I've had these for about a year and have had my mixes improve quite noticeably over that year- I greatly attribute that to these monitors. So really two things: 1) These monitors are amazing for the price and will translate well to a great many systems if you know what you're doing and 2) I'm now looking to upgrade and your opinion of the A7X was helpful. 1 new subscriber. ALSO: For those on a desk or foam- get these things on an isoAcoustics stand or some other REAL isolating mount, you'll be able to hear the difference and it makes them that much sweeter- worth the investment 100%

t7v or t5v, do they actually differ, and rokits dont suck, cause most people like me who got them, had them because they were the budget monitors, and they sounded great for as long as i could remember, untill i started hearing the little differences when mixing and saw the problem with them
@TheCommentator3534 жыл бұрын
My old college had Rokits in the music tech department. I found them underwhelming. Too much low end, high end sounds kinda distorted and fuzzy, there was too much colour for them to realistically be called monitors.
@MediaMusik7773 жыл бұрын
@fu J both are good I heard that t5v exceed their bass limitations on paper for whatever thats worth but the 7 is more balanced overall. I would even get a f7 if you can find them used but if you have the cash get the a pair of ax7 series used for about 1100-1300. Currently a pair for 1100 on guitar centers website which is cheap usually they are 1600-1700 new.

Well said, I agree completely.. I own Rokit 5 and t7v.. rokits are great for listening to and powerful as well. T7v are accurate and detailed like crazy but I find them very fatiguing. After hours of listening my ears and and head feels like I just got out of the nightclub.. I am happy with both speakers overall for different reasons. They are both affordable 👍... one other thing the Rokits have a better quality look and a light to know when they are on. You can see in the details the material of the T7Vs are a little on the cheap side in comparison

I bought the Rokit 5s years back and they have done okay. I took a trip to Guitar Center early last year (pre-COVID) and wanted to test my songs on the array of studio monitors they had in an isolated room. A salesperson there changed my life when he introduced me to Adam Audio’s T7Vs. Songs I had listened to over and over on the Rokits gained even more levels of life to them from the first listen. I was sold immediately! Later down the road, I will purchase higher end Adam Audio monitors, but those T7Vs will serve me well for years to come. The problem with Rokits are they fool you into thinking a mix is fuller than it really is, so when you listen in the car, your mix sounds very deflated. Rokits are great for hip-hop because they’re so naturally bass heavy.

Perfect timing I was just looking at buying some used krks but I had always heard the same things you mentioned. Your review changed my mind finally and I think you found me my new speakers. Put the link in your description so people can find these!
@1087films5 жыл бұрын
This review is so true. I was about to buy the new KRK's, but did a quick final comparison in the store. Just to be sure that I was doing the right thing here. The guy in the store let me listen to other 7" (6,5") monitor speakers like Genelecs, Yamaha en these Adam Audio speakers (which I hadn't heard of) and it was immediately clear that Adam Audio won the test for me. There's much more definition in the low (bass) with the Adam Audio. KRK are pretty good, but if you want to master your techno, tech house etc tracks, you want to have the Adam's. If you want good sound to listen to tracks (not mastering) or for DJ'ing, then go for the KRK's. And yes, I was about to buy the KRK Rokit 7 G4. I was already in love with these yellow cones, but the difference was so evident. And I'm not a professional, so even my (sort of) untrained ears could hear a big difference. The difference in this video is less big than in the audio room. So my advice, go to your local store and put up some of your favourite music, the kind of music you produce and just listen. You'll notice the difference. Btw, If you are mastering rock music, go for the Yamaha's. They are an absolute winner for that genre.

I had that issue with the HS8 being way too loud on the low end and shaking the entire house. The solution to this is to follow the user manual instructions as I discovered later on. The manual says to put them 1.5m or more away from the back and sides. I did that and I was absolutely blown away. The mids and highs came alive and the bass go so balanced, its just hard to put into words. The big issue now is they take too much space, but they do make up for it in sound. But yea, to sum it up, if you have HS8 and have them sitting pretty much against the wall, try doing the 1.5 meter thing and see for yourself.

But way more expensive. I've also tested: KRK Rokit G4 whole series = sorry, no chance against the adams Yamaha HS7 = too steril for my ears, and massive lack of lowend Yamaha HS8 = overall ok, but a bit to boxy for my ears :/ Focal alpha = overall ok but a little "untrue" lowend Dynaudio BM mk= superb, punchy Bass, great mids and super smooth highs with great overall clarity ADAM Audio T5V / T7V = superb, punchy Bass, great mids and super smooth highs My recommendation : Adam T Series (budgetfriendly bang for the bug) or Dynaudio BM (if you need a bit more clarity and want to spend a little more cash)

@KKMcK15 жыл бұрын
The 308s will be bassier because of the 8" woofer, and louder because they are rated to 112db vs the Adam's 110db rating. I own the JBL 308 and I love them! I have been a JBL guy since starting in studios when I was 17 in 1972. But as it is in all these things, these choices are individual and personal. The best thing is to go into a retailer and A/B them in person. Good luck.

I was looking at them but the rear bass ports turns me off since I had problems with that with a pair of Tannoys, the bass just bounced off my wall and this was creating a very strange low end, kind of loose and I could only hear the low end decently at a way too high volume. Have you experienced that with those?
@joshsmith78125 жыл бұрын
Rear porting is fine as long as it's done right and set up right in your studio, Keep them far from the wall as you can, and on different monitors porting is different, On JBL as an example the rear porting on the lsr305 is nothing short of incredible. However on some other speakers it can sound horrible, I trust Adam audio to make a good rear ported monitor.

I really do think SOME useful differences are distinguishable, yes, even over phone speakers. Definitely highs and high mids, a degree of imaging, some of the upper harmonics of low-end source material to hear where they ARE perceivable in bass-deficient playback systems, etc. Bottom line, I do think there’s value in mic’ing up monitors for comparison; worth your time and ours. Hello, I need your advice, we are opening a studio in the school where students will be able to play and record songs. It's mostly rock music. The size of the room is about 42 m2. I am choosing between Adam t7v and t8v. What would be your recommendation? Thank you.

If those are your main choices I would go with the T8V, but focus more on the acoustic treatment of the room. No matter how good studio monitors are, the room needs to be treated in order to get the value out of the production setup.

What would you reccommend more, These, or the HS8's? or something else? maybe kali audio lp-8's? which would be the best studio monitors of those three? (if there is something better for the same price please tell me haha)

There's a whole host of considerations for a question like this. Some of the major ones are budget, size of your mixing area, type of room, and what type of project they're going to be used for- in addition to the considerations for going with a 7 vs 8 inch config.

I have the JBL 5 inch and I’m really wanting to upgrade my monitor setup to the new 8 inch ADAM T8V’s. What is your opinion on the 7’s one year later?

Going from 5 inch to 8 inch will be a bi diferrence. If your room big? If your room isn't big i would not recommend 8 inch speakers. For 8 inch they would need some space of the walls, while adams are backported
