I recently purchased an X395 with Ryzen Pro 3700U, 8GB- 512GB SSD for $280 USD. It came with no OS, so installed Win11-Pro. It also had a couple months left on warranty. It also fits nicely in the ThinkPad Ultra Dock like most of them do. Screen is nice but nowhere near as good as the X1 Carbon Gen 6 with 14.0 WQHD.

X395 also fits win11 requirements and does not suffer from the infamous thunderboltproblem as on intel thinkpads of that time

I stick to my X270 for it is the last model of the series allowing to switch RAM and to switch between SATA and M.2, plus it has two batteries that last for 12 hours. I just upgraded the display to FHD which was very easy and the wifi card to Wifi6e/BT 5.3, so I'm prepared for the next coming years.

Informative video. Are you, running Windows 11 on your X395? I have a T495s R7 Pro 16/512, essentially an X395 with a 14” display and larger battery, and I’ve had a few BSOD crashes. I bought it refurbished, 11 Pro installed. Have you found any stability differences between 11 and 10? It might help me pin down the issue. Thanks again.

I just run win 10 and it's pretty stable for me never tried win 11

@@InigmaDT Thank you for replying. Clean installed 10 Pro, and so far it's been fine, so I'll let it run on that. Have you experimented with disabling the CPU power management setting in the BIOS? Some have written, it's more responsive when disabled, but there's little hard evidence.

@@InigmaDT Thanks for the update. Currently run W10 Pro and it's been stable. FYI, with 11, the BSOD were all the same, the display freezes, and either blue screen, or I had to hold down the power button, to force a shutdown and restart.

this is (much)faster thinner and more compact, but doesn’t have expendable memory and lacks an sd card reader iirc

upgradability is an unfair criticism. old thinkpads were like that because most laptops of the time periods were. New ones aren't because nowadays businesses want slim laptops not upgradable ones.
