Dude I'm so very sorry for the loss of your best friend. My sincere condolences my friend. And yeah I lost a friend of over 30 years in April of 2018. I actually cried and we didn't talk much very often for quite a few years. But we met when I moved down here in Arizona in January of '88 when I was 13 years old. He was one of the first friends I had down here. But when I heard he was gone. My heart sank and I cried for a while. Sadly he didn't take care of himself and abused his body when he was younger. We all think when we are young, that we are invincible and untouchable. Yet that is so far from the truth. And it catches up with us when we get older. Heck I'm going to be freaking 50 on December 3rd. That is completely blowing m mind. lol Granted I haven't done too many great things with my body. But God has kept me alive and going al these years! You will be in my prayers my friend, hang in there!

This Christmas eve will be 7 years since my bf took his own life. I fell apart for quite a long time. I feel that what could i have done more. Not being in the same state we talked and drank via ps3 camera every Friday. And had done so 3 days prior. Being busy and already scheduled to talk on new years i forgot to reply to his last message about buying a raspberry pi. It haunts you. Things like home arcades and the long awaited return of college football 25 he would've been all over. His name was Dirk and he had a love for Dragons Lair because of that. Now i don't even like that game but the cab is in my game room for him. I send a message every Christmas eve summing up the year as a therapeutic. But its pretty much become my most hated day of the year. Slowly move on but never forget. It gets better but always stings.

Phil (my youtube friend) your friend heard every word you said. Our paths are very similar and I had to show my wife what you said about your BF and thanked her. I almost died from a widow maker heart attack Sept. 2022 with only 30% heart function. The doctor told my wife he didn't understand how I survived. I met my BF in 4th grade 1984 and did everything together up to around 2002 then stopped talking due to career moves from both of us. My wife after this wanted to find my best friend for me. We heard nothing for over a year. Last weekend my best friend called me and we are meeting up in a few weeks for a Halloween party. If it wasn't for my wife and his wife (on Facebook) connecting I wouldn't have spoke to him. Guys are weird that way.....That's why I showed my wife your video today and gave her a kiss of appreciation. I feel terrible you won't get the chance I am getting but it wouldn't of happened if my wife didn't take that step to make contact. Have a great weekend.

I get all of this Phil … you know I do. So sorry about the loss of your friend but thankful you have managed to reconnect with the other. No matter how much interaction has, any is way better than none, and that is fine. Life changes and we do, and so often an occasional text means as much as the old daily in person interactions. And recently I had a dear friend say that it’s not that time heals things but rather “time doesn't heal but rather enables us to adjust.” And I’ve lived that since 1996 myself. I’m so happy you have been able to go through this process with these Batman Forever figures along with the recent viewing. Lord bless you buddy. And I am looking forward to the final video in this series to end this journey on a “celebration of this life” moment. Also thrilled you got the Killer Instinct and will drop in to watch the live tonight and then watch all of it tomorrow. Keep on being you, cause this world needs more people like you 👊🏻😎🕹️

You're a good egg Phil. I am sorry to hear about your friend. I felt everything you talked about very recently. My best friend since grade school, his wife passed from cancer. Too young. I knew her for just as many years as I knew him. I felt so bad for him. I wanted to be there for the funeral in Indianapolis. They decided to have it mid week and I just couldn't get away. I was so sad I couldn't be there for my friend as he buried his wife. You have my deepest sympathies. You are very right. Staying busy is a great way to deal with grief. In a sense, I've been way, way overdoing my workouts the last couple of weeks due to some insomnia I went through after her death. But, doing extra in my workouts helped me through that. Glad you got the KI Pro. Looking forward to your review of it.

Hey Phil! I'm so sorry to hear your story about trying to reconnect with an old best friend. You know part of what I'm going through right now and it's tough man. I wake up every morning with panic attacks so I'm going to try and take your advice to stay busy. Unfortunately, you're not really in control of your thoughts when you sleep. You've been through a lot of loss of loved ones these past few years and it hurts me to hear that man. I admire your faith in God during trying times in your life. Now I understand why you're into Star Trek and Batman forever - it's more than just nostalgia for you it's a memorial of sorts. Respect man. Can't wait to hang out in the livestream tonight at 9pm est. Will be fun to watch some games with the community. Hopefully one day I can figure out a way to play online with you guys. Had a few friends drown in a lake in high school. They ditched school got high and the current took them down. One was a close childhood friend we did grow apart in high school though. It was actually broadcast on WGN news as they shuffled them in the ambulance. It’s interesting you bring up this story of yours because me and this friend saw Batman Forever in the theater too when it was first released. Totally forgot we saw that movie together bro. Crazy. Anyways yeah that killer instinct is so heavy I just slide it down the basement stairs what a beast. Haven’t had time to put it together yet. Also congrats on getting the KI pro! TBH a killer part of it for me WAS how heavy the box was.. I could NOT lift it at all.. especially being out of shape.. haha Problem was as what often happens when I order them and Fed Ex delivers they left it outside the gate to my 2 acre property and so I had to take my SUV out there to load it up and I could not lift it up to put it in there... When I tried the handles even broke off in my hand! I ended up unpacking the smaller boxes individually and bringing them in a few at a time so I can assemble it. Although the weight for it is because of all the extras like the stool. It's not that heavy once constructed. About 94 pounds for the cabinet by itself IIRC. Just imagine.. in vintage commercial cabinets cabaret ones totally weigh 140 plus pounds by themselves and full size machines often weigh 250 pounds or more..

Pretty deep show man. I went through a similar experience…I had a falling out with my Father for like 8 years we didn’t talk. I searched him on the internet after watching a movie we both loved. I discovered he died from cancer the previous October. His wife never reached out to tell me he was sick. Yeah don’t ever hold grudges with loved ones it’s never worth it.

I think there's a good chance the big thing they are referring to might just be the claw machine because I don't believe they have actually announced it yet. I am planning on getting one because I've always felt like I should have a claw machine to round out the Kama Arcade.. However, it would be BIG to me if they would make this holy grail of mine: Mortal Kombat 4 XL with a BIG picture of Quan Chi on the side and some of the bonus games being War Gods, Rampage World Tour and NARC. Titles they should have released in past machines but didn't for one reason or another. And hell, throw BioFREAKS on there... why not.. I mean it came on a Midway cabinet and they could use the run button as the button that was on the joystick on its cabinet.. Maybe add Midway's Judge Dredd title on there.... haha I kinda wish they would bring us the year of the XL machine in general too to be frank like was teased before. They should rerelease some previous titles as XL machines especially Terminator 2 and Tron! Some of those titles and all the four player cabinets could use XL machines IMHO BTW, TBH I think they should have added NARC in the games list on previous MK machines especially the 30th Anniversery part 1 cabinet instead of Paperboy because of the unsuitability of the controls for Paperboy..

Phil I’m so sorry. I have a few friends who I thought were friends for life but sadly had a falling out. Things change. People go in and out of our lives. Cherish the relationships you have and never forget the ones who were important in your life. When I saw Mask of the Phantasm in 93 my girlfriend of 7 years had just left me and I saw it by myself and was too depressed to enjoy it. Now I can because I’ve moved past it. Life goes on and we have to live our lives.

I lost one of my best friends 20 years ago this December. He got into some trouble a couple of years before he passed away and ended up in jail. I didn’t see him during that time and shortly after he got out he was killed by a drunk driver. I regret not reaching out to him while he was locked up but I do have great memories of our times together and that means everything to me. Sorry to hear about your friend passing away, Phil. My best friend passed away 3 years ago. He suffered thru kidney disease while my wife was going thru her cancer treatments, so we drifted apart because of illness. My wife and my best friend passed away 3 years apart. There is so much I wish I could say to both of them now, but such is life. One of the reasons I got into Batman collectibles is because my best friend was a huge batman fan. Seeing them, reminds me of him, so I understand how you are feeling. Stay strong and thanks for sharing your story about your friend.

The way I look at it, every chapter in your life brings new experiences and new friends. I’ve had some pretty significant changes, and at every stage I’ve found some really close friends. However, once the page turns, seems like I always lose touch with those close friends; doesn’t diminish what we had at the time and what we shared with each other. Someone is selling a KI pro series in my area for a good price. I believe he has it at 500 bucks BUT it has some damages (controller deck has a crack in it). Should i buy it phil or pass on it??!?
