I get emotional every time I talk about my Pilgrimages. The Camino was a life changing event for me. I sold my home in Texas and moved to Spain. When I try and describe my experiences, I cant help but get teary eyed. Now I live on a mountain top off grid.

I love that you were so emotional when discussing the ruta de la lana! This is what travel is all about! Experiencing the locals, their food and culture, and having a deep emotional connection with others. The more people who travel (rather than sightsee), the more we understand that humans are the same all over the world. Most people are nice and happy to share their life with others. Now I know which camino to start with and which ones I need more time to experience. Blessings to you!

Great information. I did my first Camino in 2005, the French Camino and it was completely different from the way the Camino is right now, back then there were no movies on the Camino and it was more an spiritual or religious pilgrimage. Then in 2010 I did another Camino. I love to do more Caminos, but I have had many problems with my knees and my feet. Buen Camino to you on your next Camino. I really envy you. 🙏 God Bless

A very informative video from someone that has done it and experienced many different camino routes. 2018 was the year of my first Camino. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Now in Covid-19 times the numbers have dropped massively, which is to be expected. I'm on the verge of doing a section of the Camini del Norte, starting near Gijón. @@johnwilson6954 There are many people who make "El Camino de la Lana" possible. facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10215171990748622&l=86fa301215 In the link there is an Image of the past meeting in Alicante of various associations of the provinces through which this way passes and some of its variations: Alatoz, Alicante, Benidorm, Caudete, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Novelda, Villajoyosa, Villena and Xavia. In the next meeting we expect other associations that were missing last year, such as Burgos or Soria, and especially Requena, a pioneer in information, signage and voluntary hospitaleros in the section that starts from Valencia city. In Cuenca it is worth mentioning the selfless and altruistic activity of the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago "Camino de la Lana". The soul of hospitality in Villaconejos de Trabaque is Pepe Cava, true angel of the Camino, founder of the Municipal Pilgrim's House. Greetings to Canadian lands.

I also look at the comments from folks like yourself, including one from yesterday: facebook.com/caminodelalana/ If I am ever lucky enough to be in the area of Cuenca, and Villaconejos de Trabaque, I will be sure to visit with Pepe and tell him that his work has not gone unnoticed!

Sara, You are an amazing athlete. You earned a triple crown with the AT, CDT, PCT adventures. You are picking off all the various Caminos. Your KZbin footage is awesome. October 2018 my wife and I at age 70 walked the last 93 miles of the Frances route. We had a local fellow arrange places to stay and luggage transfers. Now we're 72 and have less stamina. We have Compestelas and do not need more. We'd like to walk for 2 weeks or so in some great sections of the various Caminos. If we were your grandparents where would you recommend?

It starts in Le Puy (like the GR65), and follows the route taken by Robert Louis Stevenson, which he wrote about in his book “Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes”. Similar hospitality to the GR65. I walked it last September and loved it. Maybe one for your ‘walks to be done’ list.

I have just under a week in August that I can hike a part of the Camino, and I'm jumping at it. I think I can comfortably get to Santiago it in 5 days from Lugo or Saria, but I'm half-tempted to instead just do a mid-leg of the Camino Norte, like from San Sebastian to Bilbao, as I'm more in it for the experience than any religious payoff -- especially if the last 100km of the Primativo from Lugo or Frances from Saria is likely to be sweltering and miserable. Would love to hear your thoughts on which you'd do. Thanks!
