I've never seen those camping spots behind the parking lot. Pretty cool he got sponsored by Subaru! I was using my get out gear blanket right down the road that same night 😅 probably one of my favorite pieces of budget gear!

Great video, like you I have been going to the N. GA mountains for about 30 years to go camping, since the early 90's, took a break while I serve in the Army and headed back once I got out. I used to go to what is not Low Gap creek campground, before they put in all the improved spots. I even hiked and stayed off the trail at Raven Cliffs. Weekend hikes on the AT. Many memories up there and hopefully many more to come, enjoy your hikes.

Thank you my friend for reaching out. This area is very special to me and I have hiked a lot of the trails out there starting at Amicalola to Springer to Bly Gap on the border. Lots of memories in these woods.

It's crazy that you have to think about people taking your gear when camping.

People are people. The dyneema tents are expensive and don’t want to take any risks. Burner gear lets me stay out late on local trails with no worries of my camp being pirated.

Great tips on going with cheaper gear when camping. I have separate things for both. My car camping sleeping bag is an old double that probably weighs 10lbs. I love it. Good times!

Imagine leaving the good stuff at camp while hiking to return to nothing. Oddly enough, People are the main thing to look out for in the wilderness. I usually always hike in at least a mile from the road to avoid encounters with domesticated wildlife.

Excellent Video! Love those N Ga. Trails! 👍Using heavier gear & more luxury items on car camping trips is the ticket.

Does the Raven Cliff Falls area require advance registration for tent camping, or can you just hike up the trail and find a spot? Great video, thanks for sharing!
