I read several years ago that except for the crash scenes, the actors insisted and were allowed to do all of the actual driving themselves, including blasting through Manhattan. There was also a rumor that in the original movie draft, the Jaguar XKE was supposed to finish third. But because of the trash Lucas electrical system in the Jaguars of that era, they really couldn't get the car to run, and no other XKE's were available on short notice, so the script was altered during filming.

I'm sure the Ferrari has it top end,....but off the line, cant beat a 427 Cobra. By what I've heard they didnt use overdubs for the sounds, and no sped up film. And made way before CGI.
@digitalmagicstudios04 жыл бұрын
@@jhzab666 They did undercrank the cameras for some shots for a sped up effect. However they did a lot of REAL fast driving. And though the engine sounds are indeed dubbed some, they all appear to be dubbed from the correct vehicle. The most obvious one that is dubbed is the Ferrari 365 in several scenes. This is arguably the best film ever for catching the spirit and feel of driving and for actually doing a lot of real fast driving. Love it!
