I got the same thing but have to say it’s pretty terrible in my situation. Found out through T-Mobile’s tech support why I was getting 0.05-2 mbps speeds when I was only 50gb into the plan. They said that all T-Mobile plans have a 50gb “fare use” BS that de prioritizes your data after 50gbs so all my useage after 50-100 is iffy and for the most part is extremely slow and only speeds up at night ..11pm-8am. I’m in downtown Long Beach (LA county) and I have not got any speeds better than 40mbps.. not 5G speeds (which tech support says is not a thing since they do not advertise a curtain speed, “5G simply means a 15% speed boost from T-Mobile’s standard LTE speeds” me: “so what is standard LTE speeds cuz I’ve seen like 120mpbs on regular LTE plans?” Forgot what the guy said but it was some BS. Anyway hope this helps someone who’s thinking about going T-Mobile. I’m going back to AT&T and try the business plan.

I like my Google Fi service except that also I bought the 'data-only SIM card' for use on my boat. It worked fine in the US (in a Pepwave Max Transit) but is completely blocked in Mexico. I knew that the 'fine print' says Google Fi is "primarily for use in the US". According to their representative (on a chat conversation), for the data-only SIM, that means it can only be used outside the US by US government employees and US military personnel. That is an unusual definition of "primarily". But my Google Fi phone service is working in Mexico - I go back and forth between Mexico and the US frequently and no problems so far. I would be willing to pay extra to be able to use the data-only SIM in Mexico, but that does not seem to be an option.

@surfingeagle7844 жыл бұрын
On Visible, if you're tethering or using wi-fi hotspot to a PC with Windows 10 (would probably work with a laptop as well) just turn on the PC's mobile hotspot feature. This assumes that the PC either has wi-fi built-into the motherboard, or you have a USB wi-fi adapter plugged in. USB wi-fi adapters are cheap like I got a tp-link for $7. Basically this will turn your PC into a wi-fi router with up to 10 devices while also being connected to the smartphone. Last time I tried it, I was getting like 3 Mb/s speed connecting a second smartphone through the PC. Not that great but Visible usually caps their hotspot speed at 5 Mb/s any ways.

Visible, in my current experience, throttles to 5 mbps. The ping is around 40-90 upstate NY. Page plus imo is better. I am not sure what happens after you go over 200gb with visible, but with page plus, you will be throttled to unusable. But page plus has better ping and seemingly uncapped download/upload (until 200 gb). I"m typically getting around 20-40 mbps and 40-60 ping. I'm pretty far from a tower with two antennas. However, it was my understanding (and a warning on page plus), that as of 2021, verizon was no longer supporting non-volte devices, which I thought a router like mofi4500 was. However, both visible and page plus are both working with mofi 4500 currently.

I want to RV full time. But before I can start I need to ensure that I can work from "home" on the road. So when I connect (business VPN) over my home wifi, everything is great. But when I connect over my phone's hotspot, I can connect Outlook and Skype, but I can not browse any of my company's intranet, all pages time out. My company has the laptop locked down, so I can't browse the internet to compare speeds, while not connected to VPN. However, when I connect my personal laptop to my phone's hotspot, it browses the internet just as if I were on the home wifi. When I use Speedtest, I sometimes get faster download speeds on LTE than I do on my home wifi, but super slow upload speeds. So what do I do? I wonder if it's possible that the phone's hotspot doesn't support VPN and that's the cause. I am also wondering if so, should I buy one of these hotspot devices. But I don't want to spend a hundred bucks to test something and find out I still have the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It retired over a year ago, and is no longer available.

Is there an option with about 300 GBs to unlimited that does NOT use 5G?

Just purchase a device without 5G support.

Sprint still sucks lol. Data plans still suck. Limited data after so much use. Restrictions. So what is the ideal around 5G. When will cell perviders learn.

How about STARLINK ??

We have a ton of video and articles on Starlink - there are some major downsides at the moment that makes it not (yet) workable for nomads.

Looks Tmobile 100GB for $50 is the best plan.

Clarification - ATT Business Unlimited Elite has UNLIMITED non-throttled data on the native device itself, and 100GB of hotspot access. You mentioned 100GB of data and 100GB of hotspot.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter4 жыл бұрын
I just went back and listened.. I VERY clearly said '100GB of high speed priority data on the device itself and 100GB of high speed mobile hotspot use'. The plan is subject to network management after 100GB of usage.
@thenomacs81154 жыл бұрын
That’s what I heard as well, but the plan is not 100GB of priority data on the device itself, it’s Unlimited GB. I have the plan and we use a couple hundred GB of data on the native device monthly without throttling or network management.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter4 жыл бұрын
Network management (priority data) and throttling are different things. You do get unlimited, but after 100GB you COULD be slowed down when on congested towers as compared to others. You may not even notice it, but it's a term of the plan. And that's what I stated.
@thenomacs81154 жыл бұрын
Interesting, thank you for the clarification. I have not noticed any change in speed or delivery as we surpass the 100GB threshold monthly. It’s really a dream plan for mobility and business connectivity.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter4 жыл бұрын
It is a fabulous plan, indeed... and thankfully, AT&T tends to have enough capacity in most places where network management is hardly noticed.

T-Mobile Magenta seems good but my only concern with never having used T-Mobile before and only verizon is am I going to be severely limited when I'm on the edges of developed areas or will it still have a signal like verizon? There are places in Washington and Oregon in the cascades where you can be all the way up on a ridgeline in the middle of nowhere and still have 5 bars on Verizon...

Why not have both? We're keeping our Verizon postpaid and adding T-mobile to round out coverage. When T-mo isn't available or we're getting close to using up the 100GB, switch to Verizon.
@stevelouderback14744 жыл бұрын
@@Rumline7 I think I will have to have two for backup sake anyways so that is probably a good idea.

You can not use any AT&T Hotspot with Cricket, I went to Cricket's website put in my hotspot IMEI number and was told yes you can use your Hotspot. So off to the Cricket Store I went only to find out my AT&T Hotspot would not work with Cricket. The Cricket SIM will not work in my hotspot so I got one of their Moxee Hotspots. Their Moxee Hotspot is the worse one I have ever used my cheap 39.00 cell phone picks up better. I'll be glad when SkyLink is here so we can get away from all this cell phone and hotspot data ripoff crap.
