For your cuts, i would flip the saw blade backwards, you just might be amazed at how easy and clean the blades go through soft/brittle material (plastics/aluminium/vinyl) with no snapping, chipping or bucking whatsoever. Also, for intricate detail cuts (corners, going around posts and stuff), investing 100$ on a dewalt 3" cutoff tool (with the included "multi-material blade") will totally blow your mind, it did mine, total game-changer. Keep up the good work, great vids!

Hi Josh, when I first saw your video back in January 24' I started my research on the Vevor tiles. Bought them in February . It took me no time to lay them out but the cutting took time. I even bought the saw blade that cuts plastic (doesn't work well the heat damages the titles) did not like the outcome. So, I stuck with the regular saw, like the one you used in this video. I went with 3 color pattern Blue, Gray, and Black and it looks great. I even put the transition plastic at the entrance of the garage which, I unrolled to get the memory out for about 3day and it worked but getting it to fit on the tiles was hard. Since, it was a nice sunny day I put it in the sun for about 30 minutes and it was very easy to work with. I saved a lot of money on this project my time 10 hrs, tiles $300, rubber transitional ramps $110 one long, one short, your video PRICELESS! And as for cleaning blower or vacuum. It's now August 24' and I have no issues with this floor and everyone loves it.

I was able to rent a tile cutter from a tool library here in Portland and it made the cuts so easy! Roberts 18" MULTI-FLOOR CUTTER

Thanks for the follow-up Josh, your floor looks great.
@Turbo6Detail Жыл бұрын
Not sure if it affects you, but others may want to only put the edging where the tires go up. Looks like this could block drainage going out the garage. But if you run this down the sides of the flooring (parallel to car) it could help prevent water seeping out the sides. Very cool!

Another helpful follow-up video would be how to remove / replace a broken tile along with best method at uninstalling an entire garage tile set. Nice job on the review. I went a head and ordered after watching your first video. I've started assembling 4x4 squares instead of installing individually and found that trying to take apart a 4x4 section by itself was quite a task. Especially since I had access to the bottom side to get to the locking tabs. I can't imagine how difficult it would be from the top...
@dubmob1517 ай бұрын
It's actually easier from the top if you just use a thin flat blade screwdriver, 1/4" width. Tuck it in between the tiles at the locking tabs and just lever sideways on the locking tab, moving the handle towards the semi circle. It'll release the locking tab and allow you to lift it and separate it. Go on down the line to get the whole section right out from the middle.

Nice job on the floor. Just wondering if those transition strips would block the tiles from draining if there was a substantial amount of water? Thanks

As usual nice demo. I watched the first video and your follow up was very helpful in demonstrating how to apply the rubber transition. If I may request, how about an update of your garage flooring to let us know how it's working out. Keep the videos coming.

So a tip/constructive criticism when you edit you can cut out the ok guys part in the sentence and you’ll have a smoother transition between cuts.

I can't image over a short period of time the buildup of tiny rocks/sand/sawdust/bugs under that tile. Not to mention anything dropped that can pass thru those slots is gone until you lift up the tile to retrieve it.

Hows the water going to drain past the rubber edge
@imjoshv Жыл бұрын
Yea if you are washing on top of it I would t recommend using that edge. I have a wash bay outside so it doesn’t get very wet inside for me. Any water that does get in just evaporates out

I ended up following your links in the description to the products and ordered it but it ended up being a rubber floor tile and not the ones you show with the round loops and what looks like a hard plastic tile. I hope these work it in the garage for me but now I'm concerned it's not the correct type.

I get that you can use a shopvac to vacuum up dust/debris etc....what about Liquids like oil, coolant etc.....Seems like that is a problem with these grated type floors.....How are they with Jacks and Jack stands?
@imjoshv Жыл бұрын
Yea not great fro those things.. I discuss that in one of my earlier videos about these. I think the real reason to lay these down is purely for looks and thats why i recommend the cheaper VEVOR tiles and not the mor expensive name brand ones... Those are a better quality flooring for sure, but still have the same issues when it comes to those things you brought up
