Love the pod fellas! On the Brisbane roar thing I swear Mourinho did it for 90mins vs Liverpool in 13/14 so it’s not just the a-league. On the cheating thing, I say to my players you get nothing if you don’t ask for it but I draw the line at diving. If the ref agrees with you then he isn’t watching the game.

Hey guys. Love your pod and Jerome, please don’t take a week off mate, you’re hilarious. I agree with many people with what they’ve said about low crowd numbers - eg over policing, ticket prices, mismanagement of APL and GF etc. I grew up supporting NSL and also A League but unfortunately it’s getting harder to go and support the league as cost of living has increased - tickets, food - you can easily spend of $100+ a game, more for families

Yes get the ethnic clubs back in please. I missed it I’ve only grown up with a league but I reckon it would be unreal and would do wonders for crowds and sponsorship

The only thing 'they' haven't tried and its not a club thing but, move the season to winter. Also how do we send messages for them to read out in the show?

The a league/ professional football in Australia is sadly beyond repair I think. Can’t see anything that would really reignite the league again including promotion and relegation. I think a major factor in killing off the a league attendance was over the top Policing of fanatical supporters, banning people for petty reasons and so on. The fanatical supporters provided and atmosphere that your regular Australian hadn’t witnessed before which I think was very intriguing to a lot of people, when the fanatical fans died off due to militant policing the league died with it. I think that’s more of a social issue though as I feel we live in an overly governed and regulated country where police must have total and utter control. As for the promotion and relegation being saviour for a dying league I still don’t think so. Knights where in the final rounds of the FFA cup last year against Brisbane and id love to know the attendance at that game, id doubt over 2k and a very poor atmosphere. What better way to show as a club/ supporter base you belong in the national League? I found it disappointing. The crowds have died off massively with the major clubs the south knights game opening round of last season Barely had 1 thousand people there not sure how people think that would have 15k+ if there was promotion and relegation? I sound pessimistic although I’m actually a huge fan of traditional clubs and wish the proposed B league nothing but success although I just can’t see it being the saviour that people think it will be. The Nsl hasn’t been around for 20 years now the moments gone for these clubs. As for the scrapping of the NSL I find it beyond hypocritical for a county that prides itself on being extremely diverse and multicultural to disband an entire league due to off field issues, you don’t think there’s violence outside the stadium with a league clubs? What’s the excuse then? The league should never have been scrapped but it’s to far gone now. A very clear sign of the A leagues failure is letting those clubs back into the the top tier 20 years on from scrapping the NSL, embarrassing.

Pro/rel kills the league, "There is no cash, here there's no cash, alright" end of story. Tired of nuffs thinking something so comically unsustainable in country a like Australia will save it. You'd either need to create rules that make it impossible for a club to be promoted(making the whole thing pointless) or dilute the league with semi-pro teams that struggle to meet the demands of a national competition. Also it'd kill any relegated club instantly which means and you lose media markets when teams from outside Sydney and Melbourne get relegated. We aren't the AFL or the NRL that can sustain a league off selling overpriced TV deals into select markets, we need every one of them.

The only way is expansion and expand to a point you can split the league two. Which is almost a never concept if football has the profile that it currently has for all of time.

Love Macca always will but his attacks on mariners crowds are becoming a bit much, he wasn’t even at the game he went to a concert instead? Like you guys said got to acknowledge if you’re part of the problem too. The Gosford area population is 180,000. Sydney and Melbourne are pushing 8 million each and I know they’ve got 3 teams each but simple maths will tell you they should be putting up numbers well higher than the mariners and only Sydney and victory are blowing us out of the water there. We’ve got to stop whinging about no one coming to games and start actually doing something to entice them to come. Sitting here feeling sorry for ourselves won’t fix it and anyone who calls teams dog shit for not getting crowds is definitely part of the problem
