4:49 What are you doing? on the one hand you throw co2 and on the other hand you eject it with the aerator?
@UniteForgetLeftRight8 жыл бұрын
Tunze makes a great cheap reactor that served my 55 very well. Its just a tiny powerhead with a clear downtube and a little nipple on the side for the co2 to flow in. Then the gas gets trapped and chopped up over and over again. I'm pretty sure I got 95% or more dissolution. I used the yeast method because the reactor was so efficient I didn't need to go with compressed gas.

how can u rate the ladder better than a glass diffuser?
@myaquariuminfo8 жыл бұрын
+Russ Polk I like both but I've experienced better results with the ladder. I did one month each, same exact plants. The glass diffuser makes a lot of little bubbles...but they don't diffuse all the c02 About 75%, The ladder diffuses about 90 % of the c02 . Therefore I recommend it. Still both are nice and I use both lol

Have you actually measured it or is it something you've assumed?
@dboy64008 жыл бұрын
This was a good video for showing the different methods and providing a subjective comparison, thanks for posting it! What would be great is measurement data- how much the CO2 concentration is raised by each method in a given water volume over a given time and at a given bubble rate.

Are all bubbler stones Co2 related? Do they just need to be hooked up to the air pump to work or will I need some sort of gas bottle/constant source of Co2?

can you please rephrase the question
@FuzzyDreamin9 жыл бұрын
I am honestly not sure how I could rephrase it to make it read any better than it does now...
@throwawayyourteli9 жыл бұрын
+Lillyleaf101Mew I don't get what "are all bubbler stones c02 related" if you're asking if you can connect your c02 supply to any air stone yes, you can. and the pressure of the c02 will release the gas, no need to have an airpump

I have a powerhead to diffuse DIY CO2 in a 20Gal and the CO2 is very low so i plan to get a ladder diffuser although you said its worse. I hope it works better.

Hey man, love your videos! Iv got a 60Gal with mostly swords and Discus. Problem is they've been yellowing and browning on me. The tanks tall, so the bulbs were replaced to Life-Glos and the guy at my lfs said having my air stone on all day isn't helping the plants, note that my air stone is pretty big, about the size of your palm. Any thoughts?
@myaquariuminfo9 жыл бұрын
Hey what's up! I don't think the air stone is the problem. What happens with tall tanks is that even strong lights can't supply your plants with the amount of lights they need. I'm still new at this KZbin stuff so I might not have the beat vids but I'll definitely make a video that'll help people with tall tanks (: This is what I advise you to do: Get STRONG FILTRATION I currently run a 75 gallon hang on filter and 2 nat geo filters on my 50 gallon tank. It might sound excessive but it keeps my water crystal clear and allows my lights to supply the most amount of lighting possible. If your water is not crystal clear you're not getting the most out of your lighting. Next make sure to dose your plants with liquid fertilizers 2x a week. Then, as soon as ANY yellow leafs come out..pull them out immediately. Your plant will be wasting useful energy trying to keep the dying parts alive. If you don't have a nutrient based substrate make sure you get some! Co2 is a MUST and make sure you have enough. The air stone you have is actually good for the plants because at night the plants stop converting co2 into energy and literally breathe in all the air in the water, if your tank is heavily planted this will cause stress for your fish at night because they can suffocate! If you think that the air stone is the problem just increase your co2 and it should balance out. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS!! Good luck!

How can a ladder out perform a glass ceramic diffuser when it's all about bubble size and contact time a glass ceramic would rank as joint 2 along with the atomic range from green leaf. You want the bubbles to be pushed around the tank not just go straight up and pop at the surface which is exactly what a ladder does
@myaquariuminfo8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Phillips It's actually the other way around. The bubbles from the diffuser go straight up while the bubbles from the ladder are prevented from going straight up and you can physically see them shrink into nothing. The diffuser bubbles remain the same and go straight to the top and pop.
@mattphillips67148 жыл бұрын
+Myaquariuminfo that's why you place it directly under your outflow so they are blown around your tank like I said contact time that big bubble has small contact time comes straight out the ladder and pops at the surface I use glass diffusers and what's more Mr Amano used a glass diffuser and I think he knows alot more than you seeing as he invented CO2 injection
@myaquariuminfo8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Phillips Are you really trying to argue that a glass diffuser works better than a ladder? A ladder is discreet and can be tucked away in the back. The bubbles DO NOT go straight up, they go from side to side until they completely dissolve. The diffuser releases tiny bubbles that diffuse but not entirely. And if you put them under the flow they just float all over and go back to the top. I personally don't like tiny bubbles constantly floating throughout the tank, it looks odd. If you like that go ahead and use it. I prefer more diffusion without noticing it. And amano inventing a diffuser with poor output does not make him more knowledgeable my friend. I never even claimed to be smarter or know more than anyone? Idk why you are being so confrontational.

This is all bull. I got my CO2 line in the suction side of my HOB filter and the impeller in my pump shreds the bubbles so fine they dont even get out of the pump. I just watched it for several min. and I can hear the bubbles hit the pump(a growling sound) but NO bubbles come out so I'm using 100% of my CO2
@myaquariuminfo6 жыл бұрын
That can cause a pressure build up, noise and damage a filter. Really bad method. Do a little more research.
