I would go for TT, it looks so much better, sportier and sexier than S3

Hi, very good review thank you. Last year I owned a TTS (coupe) manual as my weekend car. The TTS is definitely a more sporty proposition and makes a great 2nd car. However as I needed to run only 1 car that does everything well including S-Tronic for around town driving, extra space for passengers, roof down summer fun, I changed to an S3 Cabriolet in the summer. Also The TTS didn't have many options as standard. However you get a good level of kit as standard with S3 including cruise control, DAB , SATNAV etc. Also I love my music as I am a DJ and the Bang and O system is incredible, previously to get that kind of sound I needed a Sub and parcel shelf.

What do you mean by "all season convertible" and why do you think the TTS is only a summer car?

Hello Thomas, Thank you for your amazing reviews! I am a bit lost and I need help :) I want to buy a convertible that will be also my everyday car. I am 190cm tall. Do you recommend the Audi A3 or something else in this price range? Best Regards, Peter

+Peter Petrov hey Petr yes the a3 could be a solution or the bigger brother a5 or mercedes c class conv. Check our reviews on those cars

Thomas, amazing views! Where are you at? Looks like northern Sweden. Agree with your evaluation. TT is a wonderful car, but not something I could see driving as an every day car. It is a true roadster. My pick is the S3. Back seat is pretty much useless for passengers, unless they have lost their legs. And, I didn't see the S3 trunk but am guessing it has a few more cubic meters. Soft sided luggage is in order to squeeze every last piece in.

How do you like the TTS compared to the Cayman?

+Mike Doolittle TTS is a way better price/performance deal - and I found it more comfortable

What if you have to pick between S3 and a TT? (not a TTS)
@autogefuehl9 жыл бұрын
+Ahmed Hamzawy TT is the more emotional car to me, however, S3 is more comfortable and more suitable for everyday driving purposes. I would ask myself: How much am I turned on by each car, and if both are quite the same, take the S3 for practicability reasons. If you are thrilled by the TT, take the TT :)

Does it also come with cheating software or something bad surprise package from VW-Group or we just don't know yet? Pointless to even think about getting a VW-Group car anymore!
@autogefuehl9 жыл бұрын
+harisenbon7777777 The Diesel cheating has nothing to do with those 2 cars.
@MattShonan9 жыл бұрын
With all do respect, you dont know that!! You just know what is out of the bag. The tip of the iceberg so to say. The things they could not hide anymore. We absolutely have no idea wherelse VW Group might have cooked numbers manipulating test results. They used up all their credibility and trust we once had. This is very sad but just the truth.
@Erc1129 жыл бұрын
+harisenbon7777777 The people who tested the VW diesels will of course test the petrol cars with the same methods. If there is an iceberg then we will hear about it. Btw Since petrol engines aren't nearly as dirty as diesels (emissions wise), you don't need to cheat to meet emission standards.
@MattShonan9 жыл бұрын
+Erc888 This is true, cheating regarding emissions would be not necessary as far as "conventional" combustion engines are concerned. Looking at fuel consumption it will be a very insisting topic again which OEM did cook their numbers! First projections of the discrepancy between (allowed official) laboratory tests and real world use in terms of fuel consumption, again VW-group vehicles seem to be off scale higher compare to other OEM! Why first reports hint at such a high discrepancy we don't know yet. But to me, it smells......

how about space? I have an A4 cabrio now... so it will probably go between A3 and A5. In dimensions there are (theoretically) little differences: smaller wheelbase but the same inner room or bigger wheelbase and not that much extra inner room (polstering?). So: is S3 cabrio a good replacement fort A4 cabrio in size and room or should I rather decide between bigger and heavier A5 cabrio versus TTS roadster (because S3 cabrio is too small anyway)????
@autogefuehl8 жыл бұрын
+Jürgen Aerts yes A3 will be a good new one for you

i prefer the tts, but since i can't have two cars i would go for s3 sportback for practical reasons or if i could have two cars then just buy the mx5 and golf tdi two cars for the price of tts
