Great info just one question my son is 12 years old does he have to use the whole 4inch x2.5 yard gauze to cover fist or what is the minimum he can use thank you again for the great video
@BoxingScienceUSA5 жыл бұрын
The rules are a maximum. If he's an average sized 12yo then use 2" gauze for his knuckles. Practice with a few rolls at home and get your pattern down before competition day. Good luck!

Nice bud but you didn't secure the knuckle pad before taping
@recarnatedkronor48066 жыл бұрын
George Rodrigues you can’t
@BoxingScienceUSA5 жыл бұрын
I'm curious what you mean by "secure", and how would you do that?
@Frank-db2lb4 жыл бұрын
Boxing Coach Chadrick Wigle You did not push the knuckle pad back with a layer or two of gauze, the pad doesnt only protect the knuckles but also the back of the hand. Your supposed to secure the front to where it doesnt look like a q-tip in which your wrap did. It was good until the knuckle pad.
@@Frank-db2lb That's for a professional boxing bout. He's wrapping hands for an amateur fight. That should be obvious

Sucks that I have to order the gauze online because my local pharmacy doesn't sell the 10 yards gauze wraps. Only 2 yards.
@BoxingScienceUSA5 жыл бұрын
Worst case is you can use multiple rolls of 2yd gauze to make up the total amount, but first aid gauze isn't the best anyways. Too stretchy. Check your local gyms and mma/Muay Thai/fight shops. They might sell it. Other than that check on line.
@MattyDemello5 жыл бұрын
Ahhh good to know! I use to be a pro boxer and I KNEW it was different style gauze wraps. Ya the first aid gauze is very stretchy. I bought 1 role just to see and as soon as I took it out, it felt way to different. Thanks man.

So you need to use a new roll of gauze AND tape Everytime you train?
@BoxingScienceUSA4 жыл бұрын
New tape and gauze every time you compete in a sanctioned USA Boxing match. In the gym you use hand wraps. I have a video for that also where you use and old sock to pad your knuckles.
@rashedalsuwaidi36483 жыл бұрын
@@BoxingScienceUSA why don’t they use hand wraps for competition fights, instead they use tapes , rolls and etc ?
