I had the same issues carrying at 3 o'clock with other holsters as well. I'm a skinny guy. This holster is perfect for 3 o'clock for me as well with my new hellcat. I got mine for 69.99

LMAO oficial FBI test haaaa. Love my black arch holsters. Have two now. One for over 2 years use with 0 issues and I do lawn and ladscape so im not easy on them. I choose the ace dri matrix as the protos M doesent conceal quite as well. Not a big difference but def noticable.

Great Review... Onto my 2nd Black Arch, got the full (double clip) for the 1st one (Canik TP9SF Elite) been comfortably carrying that one for a couple months (pretty sizable pistol too)... Decided to get the single clip version for my 2nd (CZ75B) , hopefully that gives me the ability to mix and match single clip set up or double clip set up for either pistol. Again, nice review and thanks for posting the Disount code!

@@werunguns Oh man, the SFX I got is the BEST shooting pistol I own, liked it so much I got the more concealable SF Elite, it shoots great too, but the SFX is off the charts for accuracy and fun factor. The SF Elite: Damn near perfect for a carry version of the series. Thanks! I'm digging these Black Arch holsters.

Great review! I picked up a Protos-M for my Beretta PX4 Inox Compact and LOVE IT! As for the price... I honestly feel like I got what I paid for - EXCELLENT craftsmanship/quality and amazing, all-day comfort. I was initially looking at Stealthgear, but I'm so glad I took a chance on Black Arch :) . I really like the 3/4 wrap kydex shell (awesome, custom retention), and I also appreciate the option to convert between IWB (2-clip), AIWB/IWB (1-clip), & OWB.

I agree it's not a cheap holster and what you are getting is quality. The 3/4 wrap is an excellent idea and works really well. Have you picked up any accessories to convert it to another style holster? I'd be curious to see how well it works

Not yet. I knew they were working on a single-clip AIWB/IWB backer that included the Dri-Matrix feature (love it), so I waited. It's out now, so I'll be picking it up in September with the optional wide clip offered on their accessories page :) ...can't wait!

It's a great group with a lot of experience/knowledge sharing; plus, Ernest and/or Aimee Langdon will chime in from time-to-time. Many members own multiple PX4 (and other Beretta's &/or DA/SA's) and at least one of the admins has put over 52,000 rounds through his full-size PX4 .45 ACP. Good stuff!

Does tightening our belt increase the retention? One of the things I've had against hybrid holsters is that if you get the retention adjusted so that the gun can't be shaken out when turned upside down, after you put it on and tighten the belt it gets even tighter and you end up pulling your pants up an inch or two when drawing. Does this do the same?

Looks like a good holster and has the advantage of carrying an extra mag. On the flip side, it's pointed in a dangerous area. I've carried appendix for many years and don't mind it, but you have to be careful. It actually looks similar to the Spider Concealment holster review I did kzbin.info/www/bejne/havEaWd7pN6KnJY

I bought this for my g43 after watching this video, but for me the screws that hold the belts clips had a tendency to really dig into my hip/leg. Did you have that issue as well?

The 3'0 position actually muzzles your femoral artery. So in terms of your AIWB example, its not entirely accurate. I just bought this holster and wish i would have used your code. I didn't want to get aiwb specific holster because im not sure i will end up appendix carrying or not. I prefer the 3.5 position so far. Thanks for the review.

Wow, a year ago i made this comment. Now im appendix carrying and this holster just aint it. The quality is top notch. But it prints just way damn too much. I carry a g26 and even that just pokes out way too much. They ned to add a modwing. I emailed them telling them as much.

Tbh I wish they made it without all the padding for minimal bulk. I know it’s comfortable, but I carry completely kydex. Can’t be that bad having just leather.

Do you think the protos m single clip with would be just as good appendix carry then a full kydex with a mod wing? Also being that the single clip version doesn’t have the ace matrix breathable backer how well do you think it would hold up in high humid from Texas. I also sweat a lot so I’m concerned for hot spots.

The single clip Protos-M does have the Dri-Matrix backing as the dual clip does. Blackarch recommends the single clip version for appendix all the way to the 3 o'clock position

Igor Meneses Igor Meneses it does have mess backing on the back but not the matrix ace front breathable ventilation on the front. It’s like that since they don’t want moisture getting to the firearm so they only put it around the holster. So it doesn’t breath as well as the double clip. I’m trying to inquire how much of a difference that makes for the breathability.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest, but it may be incase your gun/holster gets wet, to allow the water to escape and dry your gun.

How are the edges on the shell? Had an alien gear and the shells edges were rough and would cut your hand so I switched to a Stealth gear the edges are smooth on the shell of the stealth gear.

@@thomasmorris3780 I found one in their returns section for my PPQ. Not my preferred color combo, but it was $10 cheaper. That, plus a 10% off coupon, brought the price down to $75. It arrived today and you're right, it is extremely comfortable. I may need to send back my Vedder.
