In June 2021, I bought the Coleman you start the comparison with (before I watched this video!) and LOVED how it handled/rolled on my grassy campsite, my pounded grass campsite, and my sandy campsite. I returned it today because opening it felt like all my (short!) nails would be ripped off, and the seal of the spout had a breach. Could not keep ice. Going for the Igloo! Thank you for your time.

Ozark trail makes a wheel kit for the 52 and 73 quart coolers. They are ten inch pneumatic wheels and if you buy two wheel kits and turn the axles upside down and you can have 4 wheels. Perfect for any terrain including soft beach sand which usually makes most wheeled coolers useless.

Coolers have had wheels for a long time, why don't they have wheels that can turn? I guess you can't make omni directional wheels that big, but couldn't they at leave pivot? Just curious.

Yea, I think those types of wheels are more susceptible to picking up rocks and debris.

The ozark trail cooler wheel kit is the best in my opinion. I bought two wheel kits and have 4 wheels on mine and I also have the ozark trail 60 quart wheels cooler which is cool too.

Your comparison tests and videos are GREAT - thank you for doing such wide ranging research!! This one is good for me since (old and) can't carry anything very heavy - and need to go from desert to beach and last for days of camping - and rather not spend ton of money (like Nancy, fixed income). Would love the Igloo Journey from your results but since it's for 1 -2 people max, it's kind of overkill. It might even be hard for me to get in and out of the car? So, is there a small/medium cooler with great ice retention that could be put on a separate wheel base that would have the big sand wheels like the Journey? Or, can you replace any of the other cooler wheels with big wide ones... any mixed solutions like that that you would recommend? Thanks!!!

Been waiting for this review. Can you do a review on rolling soft coolers? Really don't care about how long the ice stays, I'm more about the room and how the parts stay intact. I'm dumping whatever is in it after 24hrs anyway. BTW I know this is a cooler review but I must say that is a beautiful home.

I really like the video lay out, Where you include a bunch of coolers, then do i think now 5 videos, Budget, roto, leak and wheels, Ok maybe 4 videos, I might have forgot one... Yet this really gives us some great data, It would be nice to have the videos labeled in such a way to know which videos groups go with one another. On another note, Does anyone know of a cooler that has a removable lid? This would speak towards those that leak because of bad hinges.

Many of these Igloo coolers you can wiggle the lid off. The coolers that don't leak have a proper pin through the back as a hinge.

So I just bought the Coleman Xtreme for 28 dollars. I go fishing a bit and I've carried my fair share of coolers filled with drinks and ice to the destination spot. I'd rather pull my ice chest over some wet sand.
