There are also accounts of Gautam Buddha having played the game recreationally.There is another version to this sports origins and rich history, Legend has it that kabaddi originated in Tamil Nadu over 4,000 years ago. Modern kabaddi is a synthesis of the game played in various forms under different names. Kabaddi received international exposure during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The game was introduced in the Indian Olympic Games at Calcutta in 1938. In many regions of india kabaddi is a cultural sport.

Pero era el máximo torneo a nivel mundial que había hasta el clásico, justo en el primer clásico comenzaba la decadencia del baseball en Cuba. Cuba saca actualmente algunos buenos peloteros por el talento innato que hay pero la verdad ya no existe preparación, ni siquiera muchos municipios ya no juegan como antes por lo que las canteras se han visto muy reducidas y con las pocas estrellas que empiezan a salir yéndose del país, pronto no le ganaremos ni a Bolivia en baseball, todo esto ha provocado que muchos cubanos han dejado de ver pelota y de jugarla y ha crecido mucho el interés por el futbol, por lo que creo que Cuba debe de ser el que mejor juega en el Caribe (futbol por puesto). Pero si el gobierno dictador no suelta el deporte en Cuba y lo acaba de hacer profesional, no ganaremos ni a las escondidas.

British, is it any surprise that they adopted, adapted & modernised some of the athletic pursuits of '2000 years ago'? Not for me. Which other countries & cultures contributed so much to the whole idea of a 'sporting life'? A stereotype of Great Britain, shared by so many foreign nations, is that we spend our leisure-time sipping tea & munching on scones - buttered, with cream or strawberry jam! - or playing bridge or chess, while all the time adjusting our monocles & saying 'I say, old bean!'. The reality is that many of the 'young chaps' were busy with bats & balls, tennis rackets, rowing skulls, archery, fishing, hunting foxes, shooting pheasants (not peasants!) riding horses...& running races, cycling or swimming...not to mention sailing, climbing, & indoors, billiards, snooker...darts even! Of course, the sports weren't all British...but we played them all with some spirit of fair-play, respecting the rules & spreading them around the world...if the world was ready for such leisure activity. Enjoy the Olympic Games...even if they are an utter mess of athletics, swimming, & virtue-signalling now. I hope GB will win some medals; but if we don't...we can take the world-wide mocking of our performers. It comes every time we don't win...but we are used to the world mocking us. They should make it an Olympic event....taking the piss out of the arrogant English/British...(We've already got the god medal for that as we take the piss out of ourselves on a regular basis: it's called self-flagellation...but sadly, no medals for that... ).
